Vintage Pieces on Burlington Arcade

I'm sure most of the London folks have seen these pictures before but everyone loves pictures. I was in town yesterday so I thought I'd have a look. I'm considering a 1984 GMT and they had one in stock. No box or papers and in fairly good condition for £10,500. Seemed pretty steep.

You’ll always overpay at a tourist trap.

Good fun to look at watches though. Thanks for sharing.

Some stunning pieces here! I’m from London and have often visited, however every time I’ve been in I’ve always had a really bad experience with the staff, they’ve always been very rude. Perhaps it was because I have only been looking at less expensive pieces like GMT 1675’s, but they’ve treated me like an inconvenience as opposed to a customer. Don’t let that put you off though, if you find a watch you love, go for it!

You’re lucky you weren’t told off for taking the photo. Lots of mixed up pieces; wrong dials/bezels and extremely high prices. Other than that great!!

They seemed to have removed the prices since I last visited about 6 months back. As others have said they are ridiculously overpriced. I would look elsewhere.

Yeah, makes me laugh really. Also go on Instagram if you want to see all the rare old subs or daytonas! There you can find people with arms or tables full of them.

I always feel with vintage Rolex it’s a bit like a much larger version of the Vintage Seiko world (which I’m more into) you get collectors hoarding them and sellers trying to sell them for twice or three times their value which makes the small guy think their Watch is worth a fortune.

If all the IG hoarders suddenly released the thousands of watches they had the inflated market would collapse over night.

That particular shop is known to be very expensive, I have heard lots of comments about how rude they are as well.
I actually have purchased from Armour Winston in the Arcade, most helpful at the time and lovely people to deal with. I
bought my 2013 Daytona from them in the summer of 2015.
