Seiko has just announced the Seiko MM300 will no longer be produced.

Don't worry guys, there are plenty of pre-owned or mint condition MM300 SBDX001/017 in the secondary markets so just chill out ! Of course the next generation of Nippon Subs will be equipped with cooler latest hi-tech wearable upgrades.
Here's a toast to the MM300
Always loved, Never forgotten, Forever missed....

I think that the Alpinist is biting the dust, too.

At least sign up for a pledge membership, doc, if you're going to put a watch up for sale

Why sell now? Hold on to for at least 6 months. The 50th anniversary sbdx012 prices are about to go through the roof. Should be able to get double msrp at least as of right now. These are impossible to find as it is nevermind the mm300 being discontinued.

Nice watch, but it had some issues, even at the reasonable price point. Probably a better upgrade coming and there has been a reference to a green MM type watch coming out for Basel. Interesting how Seiko is going "Swiss" by taking out the 6 out of their mostly under 1k watches and dumping a 4 movement. It really represented a good value movement in the day.

The green one is not an mm300

It doesent say marinemaster on the dial. Prospex logo only. Kills it for me.

The sbdx001,sbdx017,sbdx012 are history as we know it. RIP.

Said an MM "type' not an MM. Agree, the Prospex logo dampens a lot of enthusiasm for their watches. I don't like it myself. It seems like Seiko design/marketing at times messes up their greater acceptance in the WIS community despite their quality. Shame really.

Hopefully the green limited edition is an indication of what the future MM will be like. (finally, sapphire crystal!)

Prospex logo is a small price to pay for sapphire and ceramic upgrades. The spirit of the MM300 will live on.

I just wish they sold parts for the 8l35 and made them more reliable. I have owned 4 and only 1 of them kept great time.
