What Watch Can't You Get From AD -- And What Did You Buy Instead?
Since we all know it is getting near impossible to get certain Rolex timepieces regardless of your previous Rolex purchases, let's start a new thread naming names, what you wanted, and what you decided to buy instead. Maybe you decided on a vacay, different brand watch, or something for your home, hobby, or...
Ok i'll start. AD is Mayors Been on list for both SS ceramic 'tona white dial (for forever, no call from Mayors even tho i did buy Rolex full price plus tax previously). Was said to be #1 on the list by TWO Mayor's salespeople for the SS SkyD blue, yet bought elsewhere after waiting many months for Mayors call that never came. SkyD blue is my daily beater. BTW, Mayors STILL has not delivered a SkyD blue to the local Mayors to the point a week-ish back i had to show the salespeople mine, as it was the first time they saw/held one. As for what i decided to acquire instead (for the time being as i wait for SS ceramic 'tona white call from Mayors), how about a pair these lovely 600 Watt monoblock amplifier beauties. Just released new models, and should be here in a few weeks. www.mcintoshlabs.com/products/amplifiers/MC611

Makes sense of course and thanks for posting. Was there something else you bought in the meantime? Holiday? Different brand watch? Car? Is there an AD you're 'waiting on the call' and which AD is it?

Can’t say I have this problem as my AD has and does take care of me on every hard to get watch so I will buy the next hard to get SS Basel 2018 watch. Excited to see what it is but my guess is it won’t disappoint.

Hmmm...
Heresy I know but I have every watch I want to buy right now. I’m on the list for a couple but am not really sure if I’d pull the trigger. That means I can indulge in more camera bodies and lenses. |

This really wasn't that big of a stretch for me but I went into an Atlanta AD to look at and possibly buy a diver, Sub or a SD, I left with a Z-blue Milgauss.
As I said it really wasn't that big of a stretch because when I bought my first Rolex which was an Explorer 214270 MKII I was seriously torn between that and the Milgauss. I chose the 214270 by a hair and wore it exclusively for 2 years. So I guess I'm technically still in the market for a diver which will complete my collection. |

I have not sought anything I couldn't get lately, but that McIntosh is drop dead sexy right there.

Update: Amps arrived earlier this week, hooked them up.... Now after a few days of settling in.... WOW they are incredible! Wife loves the styling AND the sound. She says these amps are keepers, and the way music sounds through them is glorious.

Not that I was really looking, but I decided to spend my watch money on this. I guess the Daytona will just have to wait a little longer.

There are plenty of pateks I can't get. I bought a new truck but not sure watches have anything to do with it. I will likely sell one to fund the swap though as the collection is a touch too big for my liking.
