Dental implant - complete

Finally got my implant fitted this morning

Pleased with results but not sure I’d have started the process last Nov when I had a tooth removed for a back/ side tooth as nearly a year on was semi getting used to the gap

Consultation
Trip to dental hospital for a full head X-ray
Treatment to remove old piece of root/ fit the small post to avoid any sinus lifting
Few follow up appointments to check all ok/ measure up new tooth
3/ 4 month gap to let post settle in
Then fitting itself

Not cheap but done & feels good to have the gap closed. Hopefully no issues with the short post. If it was a front tooth - I’d recommend in a second

Congratulations

Dental work is always uncomfortable in the moment but well worth it in the long run

Congrats. Glad you went through it. I remember telling you to reach out if you needed help. But it sounds like your Doc had it under control..!

Congrats and glad to hear the process went well! Without many dental implants, I would not be able to enjoy food the way that I do.

My exotic car is probably my mouth, but it's totally worth it. You can't eat a Porsche.

Congrats and I am glad you are feeling better. I will have to have an implant …. Sometime. My last X ray showed the second molar from the back has bone decay… I guess in the jaw(?). Anyway, they said it could last year, maybe more, but someday that tooth is coming out and they will have to implant. Oh Boy… can’t wait.

Congratulations. Well it looks like I may be in line for one myself. Went in for a cleaning 3 weeks ago and they found a crack in a lower back molar below the gum line. Said it needs to come out and we can either schedule it or do it now.
Since I am terrified of the dentist and never had a tooth removed I said just do it or I’ll chicken out.
I now have a gap and am weighing my options, with the implant being most likely.

Implant! no other option is healthy for you and your mouth! It’s a lifetime restoration.

This seems to be the case. Just trying to mentally prepare myself and have done a fair bit of research as that’s what I tend to do with most things…Thanks…

The hard part is over! The implant placement and healing his near painless and the putting an abutment and a crown on top will be even easier!

Good luck!

I’d second that - Painless from start to finish.
The most painful part is the wallet opening part …..

If you have bone decay I would get it done sooner than later.
