PO 600 Chrono…blue or black?

I’m going to purchase a new PO 600 Chrono. I’ll be buying it on the steel bracelet and also the leather strap on the deployent which I plan on wearing it with. I can’t decide between the blue or black. Any advice or pics?

It's a great watch, a win-win situation. For me I ended up going with the blue and have zero regrets. Too many other black dialed, black bezeled watches in the collection I felt but you won't be disappointed either way!

If you have other black watches, go with blue. This is a sports watch so blue looks good on it.

I like the blue but all depends on what other watches you have. If you have other blue watches go black.

At this time it will be the only watch I have.

I guess that makes it a bit harder in a way, but it's a good problem to have!

The blue is fantastic, I tried to include pictures of it in various settings / lighting. For me I like the idea of having the blue dial and bezel on a watch of this nature. However, some would argue the black is a bit more versatile but I know you'll be happy, regardless.

I do think the black may be more versatile…something about the blue sings to me. I like the fact it’s different.

Sounds like you're closer to that decision! The blue is indeed different / unique, and thus far sounds like what you're looking for.

Looking back at things, even if I was getting this watch with nothing else in my collection I would still go for the blue. In person you'll better see how the appearance seemingly shifts depending on the lighting, it's remarkable. In fact, in some instances it's hard to tell it's not the black version unless you had the two side by side.

This is a particular shade that hasn't been seen on many watches generally speaking. Also, if you did decide to add more pieces later down this would leave more doors open from a variety perspective.

Hopefully you can find a local AD with both in stock to compare side by side.

Blue

Black (apologies for the video, it was one of the only ones I could find)

I'm sorry to hear that, so seeing it prior is out of the question. Leading up to my purchase, the local AD I went to never seemed to have these in stock.

Here are some eBay listings to browse for the sole purpose of seeing the difference dial / bezel colours in a light box environment.

Black:

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/255643598803...mis&media=COPY

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/255643598803...mis&media=COPY

Blue:

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/144392688629...mis&media=COPY

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/194470573526...mis&media=COPY

What watches have you owned in the past? This might also be helpful in guiding you based on this tough choice. If you've had more blue watches, to with the black. If more black watches, go with the blue.

The safest bet here could indeed be the black dial and bezel, but after you browse enough listing pictures you'll have a better idea of which to settle on.

I’ve owned mostly Rolex SS sport models. All black dial on the SS oyster bracelet. I like the Omega on the leather strap.

I think they are both great looking. But the Blue and Orange combo would be my preference. Then add an orange and/or blue rubber strap and that watch will really pop when you want to mix it up.

With that being said, my vote is now officially for you to get the blue. It'll be a new to you experience in more ways than one. I'll be the ultimate enabler and say go for it this weekend. One things for sure, you won't regret it!

Agreed, they've got some excellent colours to choose from.

Adding in some images found on Google to help with the ultimate decision.

Blue is also a special colour for the Seamaster line, also very fitting for an aquatic piece. With all those images of the blue above, I would 1,000% go for that. It'll be refreshing considering the watches you've owned prior.

Going with the blue! I’ve always like the blue…I’ve seen them at AD’s in the past and always wanted blue. The black may be more versatile…I just can’t resist the blue though. Placing the order Monday!

This is fantastic news, Shannon! An early congrats to you on this, you'll never regret it!

I'm glad you saw the blue in person before, it's perfect really. As aforementioned, blue is very special for the Seamaster line. It's the way to go here and thinking back on things, even if it were my only watch I would still go for the blue.

I'm hoping you get it ASAP after placing the order on Monday. Mine was ordered from an AD in the US, sent FedEx over night and got here quickly. Clearing customs was the most complex / lengthy part but FedEx made it fairly easy.

The boutique I’m going through doesn’t have it in stock but Omega does. It should take 2 days for the boutique to her then they’ll ship it to me. Hoping by the end of the week.

Not surprised by that regarding it being in stock. Luckily they're great at getting things shipped quickly, so I hope it's in your possession ASAP. The wait will be the most difficult part, but once it lands you're set!

For sizing, you may be aware of the fact it uses screws to hold a bar in place instead of full screw links like Rolex and many others.

When I sized mine it took me a little while to figure out, but it's a great system in my opinion. Sort of like a redundancy, as the bar requires some force in most cases to be removed. So even if a screw fell out, chances are the bracelet wouldn't simply come apart.

You'll also find yourself admiring that lovely movement through the sapphire / exhibition case back. The watch truly has it all, you're going to be blown away. Also, when you wind / set it the feeling of quality is unlike any of the other watches I've had or messed around with. The same can be said for screwing down / unscrewing the crown. Chronograph operation is no exception to the aforementioned, Omega did an exceptional job on this watch.

Update…my AD called me today to let me know that Omega does not have the blue one in stock and is on back order with no ETA. They do have the black one in stock. It’s been a tough choice but black it’s going to be!

Nicely done, Shannon! Congrats and you'll have no regrets here. It truly was a win-win and you've ended up with the more versatile version of the watch. I'm very excited for you, please post pictures when you get the chance.

I would have voted for blue, but I think you'll be very happy with the black one.

You can see by my avatar that I'm partial to blue. LOL

Congrats in advance!

Congrats! No bad choices here. I almost always say black over blue, but probably because there are so many great shots of the blue on here, I would vote for blue. But they both look amazing.

Post some more pics when you can.
