Need some help on my next piece...
Hello again,
I must admit I became a serial flipper. Long story short, after spending numerous hours on this forum and many watches flipped ( the one that count: Daytona SS 116520 white dial/ SD43/ sub ceramic date/ Pam 090/ Pam 359/ Pam 572/ Pam 372/ one zenith/ one breitling)... and a few pieces that I don’t even remember, I’m stuck with a three watch collection that are here to stay. BLNR PAM 560 sandwich dial Speedmaster Moonwatch Pro At some point I was into oversized watches. Now I’m leaning to 40/42mm size pieces. The only watch I want and like be large is Panerai. My budget for my next piece would be 6-9k. Would appreciate any suggestion. What would be a good complement to my collection: add some colour/ add a dress watch/ some two tone or pm. I was leaning between the DJ41 and the new Cartier Santos... but you guys always make my change my mind, so pics and suggestion are welcome. Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would definitely check out the Cartier Santos. I really like that watch and could be more interesting than the DJ. I think it will work with your style too.
Go try it on at least. |

I’ve tried the new santos and I’m not a fan of the bracelet at all. I do however love the dj41 in most variations, my favorite being the fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet (any dial that’s not diamonds)

All your watches are black faced. How about a Yacht Master blue dial or a white dial DateJust?

You have 3 main functions get an alarm like the JLC NSA or DSA tribute. Might be slightly over the budget but worth saving for to round out the collection.

I’d echo the recommendation to add a different colored dial. White OP from Basel ‘18 would leave you with cash to spare. A dress watch with leather strap wouldn’t necessarily match your style IMHO. Nprth of your budget is the white SkyD which might be a perfect fit but near impossible to source these days.

There are two directions you can go from here:
1) dress watch: i would go for DJ41; you can either get a SS or TT option, and choose your favorite dial colors+fluted/smooth bezel. 2) diving watch: to round out your collection, you can go for either a Sub or a Panerai submersible line. |

What about a hulk? Would add a diver and a face with some color. You're probably looking at the top end of your range, maybe even a bit higher but could give you some diversity.

It comes down to this two whites:
The Santos and the new OP 39. Got a chance to try try them both today: love them and cannot decide on wich to pull the trigger. The op is 1000€ less, but I can get very good deals for either of them. The Santos feels more luxurious, excellent built quality, the new bracelet and clasp are great. The op39 is a Rolex , beautiful white dial, like a second skin. Some wrist shots: Got till Saturday. Both are reserved until I make a decision. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
