Correct. Stock in Geneva and at ADs is likely the main reason - these black dials can theoretically be swapped for blue dials and keeping all else equal will make the transition easier. Also, the majority of consumers won't be aware. I imagine it will be updated at some stage but probably not for a while.

Tried the blue during the Rolex 2018 Roadshow. I prefer the black dial as the blue dial looks different from other blue dials.

2014-2017 black dial for me. I like that it carried on the heritage. And I like a short run piece. Checks all the boxes.

I like the Black because it was familiar, but like most Rolex watches, it’s only a matter of time before I fall in luv

Based on the pic above, I don’t like the blue and the black gives more contrast with the bezel. Would need to see in the metal however.....for now, black for me

Buy an umbrella, get a free watch. Not a bad deal.
Looks great there.

Stick a Jubilee on the 'blue job' and you might just confuse one or two 'watch spotters'!

Having them side by side like this makes me lean towards the blue dial. Less contrast and more subtle look.

I like the 2018 blue and wish it were yellow gold. That would be killer, IMO.

I don't like the new blue dial. It would've looked better as a sunburst i think

< 2017, because the 2018 version with the blue dial got the blue dial for all the wrong reasons.

The black dial, rolex also twists the rotating bezel color, it was a true Pepsi before, now looks more like purple and raspberry

Usually a fan of blue dials, 3 of 5 watches I have are blue, but in this particular case I prefer the black, doubt it will be a collectible one day, but it just looks better IMHO, or maybe I prefer it because it’s the original and first Pepsis and blue dial is just something new, but definitely black for me..

2017 for me, the blue dial on the 2018 clashes a bit with the bezel.

Blue dial. But I wouldn’t say no to black dial if a good deal presented itself.
