Melbourne, Australia

G'day chums!

I'm blowing into Melbourne, finally, for a couple of weeks from the 7th July till the 20th or so.

Would be great to meet up with some MelbourneBasedTRF'ers or indeed any TRF'er who would be passing through.

I'm proposing a quiet dinner at Aux Batifolles if it still exists, or that new one by Andrew McConnell...

Any takers?

Cheers,

Lee

Yes, I'm in, and that new one by Andrew McConnell sounds great or may I be so bold as to suggest "The Press Club" which has been getting huge accolades lately.

Either way I'm good.

Be warned though, you need to make the booking like a.s.a.p. as these places are booked out weeks or indeed months in advance.

I'm in with a grin like Flynn - whoever he is.

I'll be moving into my new place on 6 July, so later in the week would be better for me.

Well we had a mini GTG today at the Shark Fin Inn in Melbourne.

5 TRF members turned up:
me
Gerry
Ultraman
Jedi
Gedanken.

It was a Yum Cha luncheon. All enjoyed the food especially the steamed prawn dumplings.

I think everyone had a great time and with a great variety of watches:
1. TT Sub with blue dial;
2. Breitling
3. Black Dial EXII
4. SD 16600
5. 5513 vintage Submariner

We are planning another GTG for Saturday next 18 July 2009 at one of the most reputable Steak Houses in Melbourne called Squires Loft.

So please get in quick if you want to come along as we have to make a booking ASAP.

Yes, they were really yummy Brandon
That Chinese restaurant is very reliable, I've been going there for years and they always do a pretty good job

Next time will be a feast of steak (medium rare for me).

Sorry no pics.....we were having too much of a good time

But next time, which will be next Saturday night I expect we will have some pics.

The GTG next Saturday will be at Squires Loft, one of the best steak houses in Australia, and it is going to be awesome

Hi guys

I only joined last week whilst up at Falls Creek. I have owned a Rolex GMTII since 1984 and am looking for a good GMT Black for my son's 21st Birthday. Can anyone help with that?

Is lunch still on next Saturday at Squires Loft?

Regards

Trent

Welcome aboard, Trent! You're more than welcome to join us, although it'll be dinner and not lunch on Saturday.

As for a black GMT, have you tried looking in our For Sale forum?

O.K. well I need to get this sorted on number a.s.a.p. so that I can make the booking (hopefully).

Squires Loft in South Yarra was already booked out so that is why I have gone to the one in Queens Road. Which isn't too far away.

Also need to know if anyone is bringing their spouses i.e. James & Gerry?
