Maybe a GTG in Atlanta??

It seems that the UK and New York are popular places for GTG's..... How about a GTG in the ATL??

Well, seeing as my 'rents live there, I'd be up for it in early, early august or perhaps later in August.

Count me in, Savannah might be more fun with the beach, inexpensive hotels, and the sightseeing, but Atlanta works for me. And if anyone is coming for outside the U.S. and could bring some Cohibas, I'll not only pick up at the airport, but treat you to a fantastic meal as well!

I'm going to be in the Atlanta area (actually Marietta) at the end of the month but it's for a family function - fly in Friday afternoon, parties Friday night and Saturday and then back home on Sunday.

I could do here in ATL but since I have a planned vacation and using my vacation time in july, savannah would be hard for me.

An evening GTG one weekend eve would be great. I live in the Vinings area so I can be almost anywhere in metro ATL. I think it would be fun to meet people from the forum. I have met people from the pen forums I belong to and it is nice to meet people in person to put a face with a post.

David: Why Cohibas? I am a fellow cigar smoker and there is only 1 Cohiba I like (siglo VI). There is a good array of nice smokes around here.

I got hooked on them on my trip to Nassau, they had the greatest tobacco store in the Atlantis Hotel, also had a fantastic Rolex dealer, John Bull, with wall to wall Rolexes at duty free prices, about 35% off of retail.
Anyway, I guess it has to do with the Cohibas being a fantastic smoke, the fact I can't buy them here, and the memories.

I grew up in Savannah. The best low country boil can be had there. But if it is in August, I should be able to partake in some event in Atlanta.

Atlanta would be a possibility for me and August would be a good time - before the college football season officially begins. I'll certainly try my best but it will depend on the situation at that time.

I guess the best thing to do is find out what part of town most could meet at. Like I said in previous post, I live in the Vinnings area so I can get almost anywhere in metro ATL with ease. So I am cool with Buckhead Lenox Area, Midtown, Sandy Springs, Perimeter Mall area, ect.

Great, now I'm getting pretty excited!! Is the Lenox-area good for everyone?? Otherwise, I'm good with other suggestions! The area where its most convenient for everyone suits me best!

You guys should meet for drinks at the The Lobby Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton in Buckhead -- seems very appropriate!

The Lobby Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead

Or, at the other extreme, the The Cheetah Lounge:

Cheetah Lounge

That's what's so great about Atlanta -- it covers the full spectrum!
