Newbie from Portugal

Hello
I have owned a Datejust black dial steel with Jubilee bracelet since 1986 and my wife has a Datejust steel and gold black dial, Jubilee bracelet since 2000. I wear it everyday with the same pleasure. I am now considering a TOG steel and gold, black dial, Jubilee (116263) as I think at 54, a little bit of gold would not hurt...
It would be nice if Rolex offered an upgrade programme where you could trade in your old watch. I don't know if I would want to keep the old one. I have no children and no close family who would value it (most youngsters don't have a watch, and certainly nothing as unfashionable as a Rolex....). An automatic watch has to be kept alive! If I get a new one, it will replace the old one 100%.

Welcome to TRF...

You can always negotiate a trade on here with the trusted sellers. Take a look around. Good luck.

Finally had the opportunity to check out the TOG steel and gold black dial at the Geneva Airport. Well, not for me at all! Way too flashy. Mine still has many years ahead of her with me! May be she will get a new jubilee bracelet.

I have to revise my OP here, after buying my Explorer II. I shall not and will not sell my DJ. I think one can live with 2 watches, even if they are automatic.
I am not sure though If I shall keep the Omega Schumacher Yellow dial or not. When I put it on, it makes me smile (it now has a black rubber strap), but I never wear it for very long. We shall see. On the other hand, it needs servicing (although it works perfectly).
