How did you come to such a conclusion?
The watch I see in that listing appears genuine...

I don't know why he would say I am selling a fake? Just because I don't have the paper work makes my watch fake ?
I have listed the watch on ebay also - karankumar1984.. You can see my feedback. @Thanks Jason |

How can he tell anything on the insert when there is a plastic cover over it obscuring its true color?

Hi guys, let me explain all the things that are wrong with the watch. Either the seller was scammed or he is being naive.
First of: The date font is wrong Second: The DW is left justified. I have never seen a Rolex with this issue but I have seen fakes with this exact issue. Third, though the insert is covered, the silver platinum filling is too dark. Genuine platinum is lighter in color than this rep and I have seen this rep insert. Then, we got the crystal. It is previous obvious that the crystal is missing the "black hole" effect caused by the AR coating on the cyclops. Then lets talk about the dial. The biggest tell about the dial being fake is the 6 and 9 marker. These markers are wider on a rep dial than the genuine. Rolex genuine markers have round edges and not 90 degree Lastly, look at the clasp, esp the part the flips over to the clasp. Do you see how the arms are not straight and bent. This is one of the most common issue found in reps due to their poor quality control. |

I challenge the seller to post some straight shot of the watch and please make sure to remove the plastic cover from the insert when you take these pics.

The pix that I have seen of the watch for sale are not good enough for me to agree or disagree.
Is there an umpire available?

I've been wrong before (many many times, per my wife :). However if it is someone on here, I would out of courtesy PM them privately before flaming publicly. |

That watch looks like a possible/probable fake from here as well. There are several issues apparent, including some that the OP hasn't mentioned.
However, just to give the seller the benefit of the doubt, I think it would be a reasonable request to see some hi-res, in-focus close-ups of the following before dropping the hammer: * Dial, without the bezel protector, with the hands set as to not obscure any dial print, and with the date-window centered. * Rehaut engraving. * Inner clasp (specifically the "Steelinox" and "Rolex S.A." engraving). I would also be curious to hear the explanation given as to why a watch so new is missing the warranty card, yet still has the box, hang tag, and bezel protector. I know the legitimate reasons for it being omitted in some cases, but I'd rather hear his explanation before ideas are potentially put in his head. Just my $0.02 |

It is not up to a seller to prove to you anything. You prove it is a fake as you say. You have 24 hours. Time is running for you

I tend to agree with the OP as well. Either there is a massive coincidence with pic quality making a few aspects of the watch look like classic rep watches, or it is indeed fake.

Can the seller open up the case back?
If not how about a dead on face shot of the watch?

The points he made are valid. That watch has a few telltale signs of a late fake 116610 (especially the bezel, 6/9 markers and DW). They CAN be caused by simply having pictures that aren't accurate with those parts, but as per those pictures, I would consider that a fake as well until proven otherwise.

Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk At the end of the day, i am merely looking out for the person who might end up buying this watch. The seller has claimed he has an amazing feedback. Please look at his feedback on eBay. Most of it is as a buyer, not as a seller. Whatever he does have as a seller is for items below $50 If you are still considering buying this watch, please feel free. I did what I thought was my moral responsibility. I have nothing against the seller if he is indeed unaware but I will stand my ground that the watch is a fake or has an aftermarket dial crystal and insert. |
