Question for the experts....

I’ve been looking at the 18038 models and have noticed some have small Roman numerals around the minute track and some don’t. Why is that, please? Is one or the other a sign of a non-genuine Rolex dial or did Rolex just make both? Thank you.

Both existed. Many, many dials were available: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=387926

Those dials are just the current dials available in 2014.

Thank you for the response. I just bought an 18038 that doesn’t have a minute track, it has indices. But, (almost) every other 18038 I see online has the minute track. The Seller, a retail shop in Dallas, says the dial is original, but I’m a noob so I was worried. Thanks again.
