42mm vs. 45.5mm PO

Does anyone have any wrist shot of the 42mm vs. the 45.5 mm PO? Since I bought my 41.5mm Great White I'm getting used to the smaller size. I was debating trading in the 45.5 for a 42, although this is just preliminary thinking.

Thanks,

Peter

a 44 mm fits me fine but a 45.5 PO is too much for my wrists already. i think its really to big for the average person

My wrist is a round 7 1/2" and I went back and forth between the 42 and the 45.5 since the introduction of the PO in 2005.

The issue was resolved for me a few weeks ago when I acquired the LiquidMetal version which only comes in the smaller size. I must admit that I am very pleased with the look and comfort of the 42.

Mystro, could you take a pic of your rolex and the 42mm PO on your wrist. I'm also uncertain which one to pick.

Thanks.

Sorry, the 42mm was a loaner. I only had the 42mm PO for the day. Here is a pic of my Sub and my 45.5 PO on Omega rubber strap. I will tell you, the 42mm PO looked smaller than my 40mm Serti Sub. I was shocked. I think because of the 18k gold bezel on my sub accented the edge of the watch more?? For me the 45.5mm PO was the only way to go.

I owned the 45 and just traded it for the 42. Although i will say that the 45 looked smaller than usual and was totally manageable when it was on rubber. The size of the 45 combined with the weight of the steel was too much. In the end 42 is the size for me...btw i have 7" wrists

It's amazing that so many members swap the 42 for the 45 and vice versa. I too have been there & done that. My 42mm was terrific at first, then it seemed to shrink on my wrist:

Now I have this 45mm...with steel and optional rubber. It doesn't feel or look too big on my 19cm wrist:

I used to own this:

This was 42mm, but it felt larger as the case was thicker. It was a good Swiss made watch in terms of value for money, but its not in the same league as my PO with the co-axial accuracy.

Cheers

I have owned both the 42mm and 45.5mm versions of the Seamaster PO. However, I recently sold the 45.5mm version as I found myself hardly ever wearing it due to the fact it was just too big for my wrist. Unless you have quite a big wrist I would always suggest going for the 42mm version - but then its down to personal choice at the end of the day.

On the bright side the sale of my 45.5mm version helped part-fund my new Rolex Submariner :p

I think the 42mm PO wears a little smaller than the 41.5mm GMT in terms of diameter. Height, of course not

I like the 42mm. I feel the 45mm gets to noticable since the watch by its self allready is pretty flashy.

I must admit having bought a Seamaster 300m back in 1995 there was the choice of either full size or mid size. I really pondered the dilema thinking I would go for full size but it just looked huge on my wrist which is medium sized. I think the 45 looks huge unless you have a large wrist to boot. 42 looks really very well proportioned to most wrists.

If you're used to wearing a watch on say the left hand, put it on your other hand and you will notice just how heavy these watches are when you are not used to the weight.

The PO is indeed a heavy weight. Even the 42mm. I don't know how I was able to live with the 45.5 for a year.

Someone was checking out my watches and tried on both PO and GMT II. He said is the Rolex a fake because it was so light (hollow center links). I laughed and just said 'what do you think?"
