To buy or not to buy....
As some of you might know... i've been looking for a nice 5513 maxi mk1. Found this example that someone is offering up for around 7k USD. Dial and hands look pretty good but I'm not so sure about the case. Also the original insert has a bit of damage.. the seller agreed to send me both that insert and a service insert. The question is... is this one worth it? Or do i just keep looking for a better example (or at least one with better pics ). Thoughts???

overall i think its a beautiful watch. Case just seems to of had its fair share of polishing in its day. Perfect dial and nice patina though

Case: looks pretty good to me, and not overly polished.
Dial: several of the hour plots have deteriorated so that the lume is falling off. 2,3,4 and 6 appear damaged, but the photos are not good, and there may be more. At least two different inserts in those pics. Looks like three, actually. Be sure you know what you're getting, if you buy it. Get many more, much better photos, first. 7K seems a lot to me, for that. |

Yeah I'm not sure about the lume... I think it might just be the light but like you said the photos are not so great. I was getting ready to buy it and then had second thoughts and asked for more photos. The seller had a tantrum because I asked for more photos, so I'll probably pass on this one.

Nice catch by Vincent65 on the different inserts. If the seller didn't even mention this, it seems there may be too many questions about this piece.

Be careful something seems not right with 3 different inserts.

A tantrum because you requested extra pics? I know I don't know as much as you all, but I DO know that his tantrum would be a show-stopper...

He mentioned that he has "a bunch of different inserts and likes to switch them up". The damaged one is the original... I don't know it kinda threw me a little.
