Hello friends. I thought I would share some pics from my trip to Japan. I made sure I took some watch shots for u guys.

I shot all these pics with a point and shoot camera, I did not want to lug my pro SLR this time.

Lost in translation (Park Hyatt Tokyo bar)

This place had PN's, Red Subs, and a Comex. You can get any vintage Rolex you desire for a price in Japan.

Japan is awesome, such a great place for a holiday, people, activities and of course loads of Rolex watches new and vintage.

Thanks for sharing, Bryan. Takes me back to the many trips I made to Japan back in the '90s. I loved the hustle and bustle of the cities, the quiet of the ryokans, and most of all, the food.

Thx. Yes it was hard to look at all those classics! But the pricing helped me stay grounded. Some were not a rip off but if you were to look hard to could find a better deal elsewhere. Cool thing is how many people can say they have seen a real Comex etc.

It is nice that you got to experience Kyoto as well, some people only go to Tokyo and they miss A LOT

I did not stay at the Park Hyatt as a friend has a condo near Chiba area so I just went for drinks this time. Yes Kyoto is very nice. I do like the countryside more then the major cites in Japan. Tokyo is always cool but seeing Kyoto is like taking a walk back into Japan's history. My favorite city in Japan is still Shizuoka. The weather stays warmer you have the beach for surfing, some city life and mountains for hiking along with hot springs to take a dip. Shizuoka has it all. It reminds me of So Cal.

No Rolex purchases this time around.

Hello everybody, a quick question for those who are familiar with Tokyo, as I live here, too. I am looking for the impossible-to-find Daytona 116520 model (steel) but so far I've been unsuccessful. Why is it so impossible to find it?
I still have to explore all the official retailers here, I just checked out two of them, but if you have any advice, please let me know where I can go and find it.

How easy/hard was it to get around the main cities as well as the country areas?

I'd like to visit Japan as an independent traveller (not in tour group) but am concerned about communicating and getting around.

Hey Denny the cities like most places are easier to get around. From the time u land u can use trains to get almost anywhere. However the countryside can be more difficult to get around. The train maps are available in English.

It is pretty easy to find your way around Japan. I would really encourage people to try and learn the Japanese alphabet, though, it would make your life so much easier and it is really not too hard! All of the stations in major cities have the name written in romanji (latin characters), but some smaller towns may only show it in Hiragana, and Katakana, along with the regular Kanji. Also, learning Katakana will enable you to read the menu at almost any restaurant in Japan. For example, if you see this on the menu: チョコレートケーキ you would be likely to panic. But if you know Katakana, you would see that it is "chokore-to ke-ki", and as you could probably guess it is (if you know the pronounciation) "Chocolate Cake"! Another fun one... ハンバーガー, "hanba-ga-, or... "Hamburger"!

That's exactly what's unique about Japan. The houses and infrastructure look very traditional, but its incorporated with the latest technologies!

I agree with the earlier posts that everyone should see Japan, and not only Tokyo. Personally I like Osaka better.

Btw, the OP's picture of a golden temple in Kyoto is really made out of gold!

Thanks again guys. The Comex was $152,000 so I though I would get a Ferrari 360 first.
