My AD has stated that they will no longer sell "hot pieces" at retail. Instead, I can expect them to be bundled with less desirable pieces.

I understand they are in a difficult position but I AM NOT DOING THAT. Period. I'd rather go without than be extorted by my own dealer.

At least my Rolex AD sells at MSRP...

10-15% off in HK? At what point should I be looking for a flight and heading over there wake me up when it's 25% (but I imagine world wide prices would also be off in those circumstances)

It'll be fine I'm sure. Can't be worse than a rush hour tube/subway ride.

What I am seeing is selling and more selling of the SS 5711 models. Dealers are getting a lot of them. Many owners apparently think they are getting out at the top. Will they be right or did they leave future higher profit on the table. Who knows.

I can't wait for Mr. Stern to play a joke on everyone, and unleash an abnormal amount of 5711's in one of Patek's monthly shipments to their AD network.

In the end, it's all a game anyway. Life.

Absolutely. I'd be all over it. Knock off several from my list all in one shot? I'm down.

Go to the watchfare in Holiday Inn. That's where all the grey dealers are.
They sell their pieces at merchant to merchant prices and not the tourist prices.

A 5980/1R is no longer 1.3-1.35M HKD. It's around floating around 1.15-1.2

Ah ok. Thanks.

Because of the HK protests?

Or just economic forces at work?

The 5980/1r is a pretty niche in this price range I would expect big differences in prices so hard to say any fall in price has taken place. The low price for 5980/1r in US on Chono24 this morning was 155k US (1.2m HKD) so your 10-15% price fall is normal bubble price really.

Are you tracking the current HK prices for 5711-2/1a, 5167/a and 5164/a and how available are they? That is the “business end” of the market, if you give us current grey prices for those models, we will be able to better judge if prices are genuinely falling in the current HK market.

Well. 305-310K for green daytona. Hulk down to 118K. SD-43 is around 104-107K HKD.

Didnt inquire with 5711/12 because I simply wont be even looking into buying them nor do I own them, so haven't been my interest to check up on them.

The 5980/1R I checked because I kept track of it :-) Was 1.5M not too long ago.

The green sub price is comparable to the UK atm, so UK prices must have fallen as well, but I’m not sure if £12,000 is a falling grey price as I have no interest in that model. The 5711/1a and 5167/a appear to be rising, at least in the UK for now.

I can’t believe you have the nerve to come on to the Patek sub forum and say you have no interest in the 5711 5712, 5167 or 5164. We need to get you to turn from the dark side fast, we may be your only hope.

Agreed!!! :-)

However, it's possible. If a dealer gets only once piece per year and there are 25 names on the list...... :-)

Or he can discontinue the 5711 and people will go crazy.

I have 5 Pateks in my collection. Reason why I can't have more sports is the availability. I do own a 5164 and 5711...Just in PM. No steel. I don't check steel because it's simply impossible for me to get. Even after buying all that PM, I'm still somewhere at the bottom of the list Rest assured, my name is there, and I pop into the shop once in a while with one of the watches I purchased from them, so they know I use it

If I was you I’d find a new AD after not offering any steel after your purchases
