What do you guys think of Panerai’s first foray into perpetual calendar watches?

Well, my biggest issue is how and why I buy a Panerai. Panerai are big, bold and tough regardless of what they are made out of.
This may sound trivial but the WR of 50m is deal breaker for me. A proper dive watch has to be more than that and it would be like buying a wetsuit I can’t get wet in. This has been a theme with all of their PM models and I don’t know why????? As far as the P4100 movement, I would love to see on as I love technical automatic movements.

Hard to position this piece on the market. There is people like me, that probably will get a DD for half of that price. And the people that see it as a bargain will probably still go with a Patek for a perpetual.
So I think the niche is small, not saying not existent because price aside the watch is cool. Combines elements of haute horology with the characteristic Panerai fashion look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The charm in Panerai is in their low horology not their high horology.

It's interesting, yet Panerai is historically a ~$5000 stainless steel simple timepiece with small seconds at 9. At that price level there are manufacturers more known for such complications.
It looks like a Richemont mashup of their PAM x IWC. What price does Richemont's comparable IWC go for?

I think that might be the rose gold version 742?
The platinum version has a green dial: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=811540 |
