Very Zen!

I usually just check against my cell phone. (Not very Zen.)

I set it with my cell phone when I first put it on and check it maybe once a week to see if it's still close. At this point all of my watches stay within 5 seconds + or - per week. I usually change watches every couple of weeks.

Match it to my £3 Casio 'gardening watch'.....which keeps good time against the TRF time, ( in red at the top of this page).

I'll either use Time.is or my GS 9F, which hasn't lost or gained a second in over six months, so is fine for general timing. To gauge movement health and get a rough idea of how well a vintage/used watch is running when it arrives, or if I haven't used a particular watch for a while, I'll use a timegrapher.

I just like to see those pointer things go round and round.

What they point to doesn’t really matter.

Does that make me a zen master, I wonder?

All I have ever used is my quartz kitchen clock, check once a week or so my life's not run to the exact second. Never felt the need for things like phone timing apps or any of todays Rolex watch toys, I just wear and enjoy wearing my watches .
