FINALLY !!! Got One !! (kind of)

I have been on the “Wish List” at several ADs (at 2 of them I am a valid (hopefully valued) customer) hoping for the Rolex Submariner 41mm 126613LB (Bluesy), with no luck to date.

I really love, Love, LOVE that watch … the size, the dimensions, the graphics, everything about it.

But, as I said, no luck. Here’s where the “kind of” comes in, while it’s not the 126613LB I have been seeking …

A good friend of mine, who has an extensive, high end, beautiful watch collection, told me that he would sell me his 116613LB. He’s only worn it 20-30 times … it’s not a watch that he and I can wear in our line of work to work, so dinners and pool parties only … and his wife doesn’t really like it, so … it became available.

I was worried I would not like the Maxi Case of the 11 Series … I was worried I might not like the Matte Dial of this 2011 release … but I have to say … it’s beautiful, and I’m thrilled to own it, and look forward to wearing it.

If I ever do get the call for the 12 Series, I’m not sure what I will do.

Congrats! I’ve always admired the blue on the TT. I wasn’t sure about the maxi case either, but it’s actually nicely balanced.

It's not as big as I thought it would be ... looks different (better) on the wrist, than in the pictures in the catalogues.

Thank you !!

I could not be happier with the provenance of this watch. I have all books, cards, tags, papers, even his original receipt, from the AD where he bought it.

So, the question is - did your friend give you the friends and family pricing plan? I know many people who own a Rolex have it as a one and done and have no idea what the market is now.

And, congrats! Personally, I like the 11 series case/bracelet better than 12.

We told each other … type a price, and text it to each other exactly at noon … we both sent the same price !!!

PS … In my collection is a 14060M Black Sub No-Date “2 Liner” … I have to say, I LOVE the Glidelock clasp on this watch … adjust to a perfect fit.

I know the 2 liner is a classic, but I would consider trading it for the new iteration, just to get the Glidelock clasp !!!

If you’re like me, your wrist is smaller in the AM, and then bigger in the heat of the day, after lunch.
