3 months

For the enthusiasts wondering if it's possible to get an AP without previous purchase history my experience with the AP boutique has been exceptional.

I went into the store 3 months ago and had a very pleasant conversation with the SA and we talked watches and why I would like an AP. Explained that I would like a 15500ST or 26331ST and the SA took my details. 3 months later he called and offered me a 26331ST black dial with silver sub dials.

As others have said previously, the AP boutique experience is a step above most others so, if you genuinely want one, I'd say it's worth the effort and they certainly have a different attitude to what may have been found with some other brands.

So was that the AP Boutique at Harrods or AP Sloane Square?

And congratulations too...

Thanks. It was Harrods and I can't begin to explan how professional and welcoming they were. Certainly they made sure I was genuinely interested in the brand and I want the watch for the right reasons but they did any 'vetting' in a nice way. Honestly couldn't praise them more highly. So if, like me, you want the watch to wear and enjoy, the folks at AP will not try to intimidate you at all.

Awesome. Great to hear. Have been wanting my first for the past year, but enjoying Rolex and other brands until I get that lucky call from AP.

Thanks for all the good wishes. However, this is a prime example of why not to post an incoming before the watch is in hand.

I had to cancel the collection of the watch (and therefore it went to someone else) because my mother was rushed to hospital by ambulance the night before and I had to be with her.

Can't fault the boutique at all - it was my issue not theirs. Hopefully I will get another offer but who knows when. If I do, I'll wait until the watch is on my wrist before posting.

Hope your Mother is ok Billy.

Just out of interest why wouldn’t the Boutique take a holding deposit and give you some time to breathe here?

Thanks. She came out of hospital yesterday and is on the mend.

To be honest, I was in a bit of a panic and didn't even ask about placing a deposit. I can't blame them at all and they've been a pleasure to deal with all along. Pretty hopeful, judging by this experience, that I'll get another chance but no idea of timescale. I'll visit next time I'm in London to talk to them in person.

glad she's ok but they couldn't hold it for you for 1 day with those circumstances?

As I said, I didn't ask but I guess the point is I didn't know at that stage how long it would be: it could have been a day or a month before I could go to collect. As it happens, she went in on Wednesday (my appointment was Thursday) and she was discharged Saturday. I'm her only family and she's far more important to me than any watch. If I've missed my only chance for an AP, then so be it but, from the experience I've had so far, I'm hopeful that won't be the case.

Seems like being in the UK might be an advantage? I've been offered one ROO (which I did not buy) after six months of trying my darndest to get in good with the SA.

That said, I realize everyone's experience can vary. Either way, I have to say the service and the staff at the boutique here in Dallas have been extremely lovely despite the limited offerings.

Very sorry to hear about your mother! I hope she recovers quickly.
