Timezone watch school

I suppose that this question is directed at Avalon, but would welcome any other thoughts from others who have experience here.
I am becoming more and more interested and seeing what makes our watches work, and have been seriously thinking about taking up the timezone watchschool. What have others experiences been of this?. Also at the end of course 1 and 2 how capable does one become? ie can you service your own watches etc? or is the course too basic for this? thanks for your advice.
