Back on the wrist

Early last year I purchased an AP Diver despite knowing it was too big for my wrists really. I firmly believe that something can look awesome on one person, and dreadful on another, but I like this watch so much I bought it anyway.

I then found myself hardly wearing it as the fact that it was too big for me bothered me. Reluctantly, after a few months I decided to sell it, and so I stopped wearing it six months ago.

Having not really made much of an effort to sell it, I decided a couple of weeks ago to keep it, and to hell with what it looks like! I’m such a fan of this watch that I’m happy to have it for just wearing around the house or for wearing with long sleeve tops, so it’s not going anywhere!

So, three learnings to share for those of you like me with small wrists and forearms...

1. If you want to wear a bigger watch, save it for when you’re wearing a long sleeve top, works just fine.

2. If you have a collection of watches, every six months put one of them away, when you get it back out the safe six months later you get the same buzz as buying s new watch.

3. You likely spend a lot of time at home. If there is a watch you love but it doesn’t suit you for one reason or another, just enjoy it around the home.

From that angle it doesn’t look oversized for a dive watch at all

Yeah, probably not quite as bad as I think, just not used to bigger watches.

I think it deserves to be worn. Doesn't look too big.

What great advice! Thanks for sharing.

I was really on the fence about that exact watch. I ended up getting something else.

Vince, take some more pics and post them, b/c from what I see there it doesn't look too big at all.
Plus, your forearm is tatted up, so I'm willing to bet it gives the impression of your wrist being bigger than it is, which works to your advantage.

Looks great to me. It's next on my hit list and I have smaller wrists as well.

Indeed wouldn't have sold it for another SS. And looks fine on your wrist.

IMO AP diver does wear a little bigger vs ROO 42/44 but it looks good on you.

It definitely looks good. Your forearm appears to taper up (ie-- it doesn't seem skinny) so if that's the case, the overall look of the watch fits well.

Looks fine. You're probably not used to the size. Wear this for a few months straight and the rest will feel too small
