Daytona and water

Hello guys.

Simply want to ask Daytona owners something.

Do you treat your Daytona the same way you would a sub? Do you swim with it. Shower with it and do the same activities as you would do with a sub or a sea-dweller??

Thanks

I know you can with the PM Daytona's, like my Rose Gold Daytona, but I am unsure about the SS ones...

hehe I'm just kidding!

The Oyster case is waterproof to 100 metres, assured by screw-down crown and pushers. Yes for all Daytonas

I do pretty much all the things with the Daytona as I do with the Submariner, including swimming. Do not worry, it’s a great watch, beautifully built and it won’t let you down.

yes all treated the same....
treat my daytona SS same as my GMT Master II and SD4K

Think about it for sec....Daytona can go 330ft deep! 330ft!!! Think about how tall an average person is (6ft ?) and how often you're in water over your head?

My sub is a vintage submariner these days with plexiglass so I never wear it to the pool or sauna etc

My 116500 Daytona is the "wearer" and goes everywhere... Sauna, steam, waterskiing... Even play snooker in it

Thanks guys.
That kinda settles it for me then. I’m thinking about the Hulk or a 116500 white dial.
I’ll go with the Daytona then :-)

I have a 116519LN and happily wear it Skiing. Golfing. Swimming. Showering. Gardening.

It’s there to be worn, and whilst my Dweller is clearly able to go to greater depths, it’s not really relevant given that I don’t even swim underwater in a pool!!

(snipping all the valuable explanatory stuff and taking the first line out of context.)
I agree, you need to get a PM Daytona to swim with it. I do with my Platinum and that's my recommendation!!! I actually use mine to time my swims almost everyday!!!

I have a ss Daytona and treat it exactly the same as my sub. No issues. Swim, shower, mountain biking, hiking, playing ball with the kids, basketball, golf. Now I don’t have the ceramic version and that bezel is not protected as the sub one, it may be prone to chipping with what I do. So I will not moving to the ln anytime soon.

I can perhaps understand going swimming with a watch, buy why would you shower with it? I would think that soap would create a build up around the crown, buttons, and bracelet .

Putting an end to your boldness!!! Dare say I agree which is why other than when getting out of the pool I take mine off when showering.

Wear it in the water. It’s a Oyster and go anywhere you can. Lounging at the resort in the pool and hot tub with my Rolex on is a favorite pastime on vacation. I don’t care how beautiful the watch is, I simple don’t ever buy a watch I cant get wet or swim with.

I have one in the works and will be treating it exactly like my 114060. Meaning, wearing it as a no fuss daily, including while surfing, which is something I do often.

I would more worry about hitting it against something or losing it in the water than about water ingress.

Be aware though that seals have the nasty habit of self-destroying when they reach 15-20 years of age.
