I was talking with someone on WUS, and he didn't have any paperwork. I see him listing watches here and there, I won't give his username out as i'm not really sure if it's a scam or not. I asked him to email me from his work, but he said he wasn't able to due to the nature of his work. He offered to send me a photo id, but I thought anyone can photoshop something fake. He claims to have sold over 50 rolexes.

The scammer appears to be trying the same thing on the classified section right now, selling a 5711 for $45,500. A reverse image search of the pictures leads to a listing from 2015 on the rolex forums, with the exact set of pictures. Joearch appears to be a legitimate forum user but his account may have been hacked, careful I reported the thread

I have to say, this made my stomach turn. I too was Scammed and it absolutely sucks. Although my loss was under $7,000 yours is far worse. I feel for you brotha! I hope they can catch him and get your money back.

Getting the FBI involved is smart as they have jurisdiction. He commited wire fraud, mail fraud, and much more. I would contact the bank and file a report with them. There are ways to trace the money and file a report with them. At times, they can pull wires back (or portions of them) if notifies in time. But I realize this is an uphill battle and I wish you the best of luck.

In a perfect world, all it would take is 2,250 watch enthusiasts willing to give $20 each, and we could make things right for Chad. Probably won't happen, but it would be a nice 'feel good' story if it were to come true. -Rick.

I've been looking at 116500LN for sale on WatchPatrol and I knew that the username rang a bell. The listing at TZ has been removed. I have a screenshot but can't upload due to my low post count.

He's obviously doing the rounds

When you have a chance, it might be helpful to others here if you could explain where you connected with seller/scammer, how it happened, how you got taken (fake ID, facetime seemed legit, etc.) and how you think going forward would be the best way to protect yourself (oneself) from this kind of scammer.
Yes that would be greatly helpful...

Our prayers to catch this guy are with you Chad!

I would go to where he lives with a few friends and kindly persuade him to return the money if you know what I mean.

I suspect getting away with the first thing even after leaving every clue short of a stabbing selfie makes you a little cocky.

I admire all the helpful intentions here, but does anyone really thing a scammer sends a scan of his actual driver's license with his actual picture and current address?

Chad, I really do hope you get your $ back and that the scammer gets caught (especially so he can't scam others). Who knows how many others he's already scammed out of thousands!

Any update? Any authorities on the trail?
