Surprise new watch

Passing an Omega boutique I noticed they had the saffron dial Aqua Terra in the window and decided to go in and try it on.
I asked if they had a terra cotta one that I could at least look at. And I was told they did and that is was available as the client who it was reserved for had not turned up by 2pm (it was 2:10 at this point).
I couldn’t believe my luck, I loved the watch and my wife told me I HAD to buy it

Very nice. Congrats. I like the new AT 38 with the blue dial just seem like not many available. It being a new model, did you ask for a discount? If you don't mind me asking, what was the price?

My father in law is retiring this year and is in a position to buy any watch of his choosing (this guy could blow 6 figures if he wanted without missing it).

I went to the AD to watch shop with him and despite ability to get a BLNR, OP, or even a Lange - he went for the 38mm Aqua Terra. He thought it seemed like the best overall day to day watch for his life and adored everything about the Omega. Always important to consider these non-WIS perspectives and appreciate just how great this model is as a one and only watch. Nicely done!

Discount? On this model, not a chance.
Cost £6,100
Edit: +£595 for a pair of Alexander McQueen trainers for my wife

Can’t say fairer than that, did he buy you a Lange instead?

Congratulations OP. Looks great on you ~ enjoy!
What a bummer for the other prospective buyer who was 10 min. late. Can you imagine showing up, given they still wanted it, and you were just hung up in traffic?!?

Thanks very much.

I agree it would have sucked if the original buyer was on their way and got delayed, however they would have known this is a fairly hot piece that has not been available for over a year since it was announced. The least you would have done if you still wanted it was call the boutique to ask for a bit more time to get there

Thanks everyone for the good wishes, super stoked with this new addition, which feels like it can act as a dress watch as well as a casual piece

You sound surprised that I asked. But if I knew the answer, I wouldn't have asked. Thanks.

Thanks, the bracelet is beautiful and very comfortable. Just waiting to see if the lack of micro adjustment becomes an issue

Fair enough

This terra cotta AT has been rarer than hen’s teeth, so I didn’t bother to ask for a discount

Wow, great watch, dial and bracelet are terrific.

The AT, not under rated, those who know recognize what a great timepiece it is. But very much under appreciated, I don’t know why more people aren’t flocking to it.

The AT is an underrated watch IMHO. Its a stunner IRL and although I dislike the butterfly clasp, I very much enjoy the understated but elegant look and awesome bracelet.

Also, something that not many talk about until they own one, these new Omega movements are F'ING unreal. Mine gains a second or two after a week.

Congratulations on acquiring yours. Wear in good health.

These new colors are extremely tempting.....IMO if you like the form factor it's a no brainer.
