I was emailed a receipt of a GMT purchased by someone else under my information and n

Today I opened up my email and was sent a receipt for a GMT purchase under my name and info. The watch was paid for 80% cash and the rest on a credit card that doesn’t belong to me.

How does this happen? To my knowledge, every time I buy a watch from them, I verbally provide my email to them. Also this happens to be a watch I’m on the list for.

My AD is closed so I sent the a follow up email and haven’t gotten a response yet.

What are the chances this was an honest mistake or if the AD is backdooring the watch under my name?

Receipt not attached on this post for obviously reasons.

Sounds like they just booked the sale under the wrong profile. Either way, Id go in and ask them for your new watch.

What’s backdooring the watch under your name mean? What possible motive could AD have to do that? Can’t wait to hear what the story is!

Might be a non story and a honest mistake but I’m concerned because the receipt has my name and info on it. Someone’s out there with a watch that’s registered under my info.

Yep Understand the dilemma; don’t understand any motive for an AD to “back door” a watch with your name on it. Like, in what world would that advance the AD?

Have a decent spend history. Don’t want my allocation to go to someone else

Call your AD. It could be an honest mistake. It also could be the SA doing a favor for someone and falsely using your profile and/or allocation as justification for the purchase.

I have a very unique name so it’s very unlikely. Hopefully it’s an honest mistake. Lets see what their response is.

Yes. I’ve gotten the email previously from the same AD. I don’t recognize the SA that’s on this receipt though.

Doubtful, sounds like it was a piece the OP wanted (was on the list for) so if anything, it will de-boost an allocation towards that piece!

Very interesting sound like back dooring to me. Very unlikely they put you on someone else’s warranty. If that was me I’d be pissed.

This. I don’t want an allocation I’ve been waiting months for to go to some other person. Not only that, the person has a watch that’s registered under my name now. If that watch was to be lost, stolen or sold on the grey market, it would lead right to me.

AD kept watch for him/herself. Used your account to process the purchase (not allowed to by them.. watches only for customers). Would not be surprised if that ended up being the issue. You will probably never get the correct story.

No way can this AD be this malicious right? If so, what’s the correct action to take? I feel like my info is suddenly compromised.

Seems like a mistake to me. Why backdoor stuff under your name and let YOU know about it?
Give them a call and see what they have to say. I'm sure the buyer will be calling them too as he's probably missing the receipt.

A good sign thay your name is coming up next on the list.

Or it has just been skipped in favor of the next

Just walk in and show them proof of your purchase, thank them for allocated it to you and then say, "Now, can I please have the watch I purchased?"

trying to follow along here & struggling...

OP gets an emailed receipt of a transaction in cash & credit, but its neither his cash nor his credit card. It's an obvious mistake, someone else's transaction. Interesting conspiracy theories being floated here on the Real Housewives of TRF

Someone else’s transaction but clearly all my info was used? Isn’t it’s protocol for AD’s to collect ID when purchasing a watch?

It happened to me but in a different way. My assumption in your case is that it is a backdoor but they forgot to send to the other the person’s right email. Instead they automatically sent it to your email since they used your name to begin with to sell it to the reseller at a higher price. There is no perfect crime. SMH.
