I have a Red 1680 which I wear just about everyday except when I'm heading to the beach or know I'm going swimming. At that point I just put my Yacht-Master on for peace of mind.

I do struggle with the fact that I have a Submariner that I'm afraid to bring into the water, even though it's probably fine. Grrrr!

I did, until I dropped it off at the San Francisco RSC a month ago (info in my sig). Now, I've been rotating the 1655 and one of my Triple 6's until I get it back.

My favorite.
Have been wearing it the most out of my small collection.
It's been taking a beating lately.

I bought it to wear it. It hasn't seen any wrist time in the past week due to my new SubC but I am wearing it for the Fourth of July.

I don't think you're stupid at all. My GMT, which was my daily wearer for about 43 years, has been all but retired in consideration of its monetary and nostalgic value. It now gets worn only sparingly, as I fear losing the bezel like I did 35 years ago while working in the yard. I found it a few years later by chance after it had faded quite nicely from exposure to the sun and elements. I almost tossed it, as by that time I had replaced it with a 1980-vintage bezel ring and insert which looked much nicer. Now the faded original looks better to me, but if I lost it again a replacement faded fat-font insert would likely cost around $1k.

Anyway, since about two years ago I've acquired four other nice watches that are in rotation now, so I have plenty of choices.
