I would be insulted if AD called and offered me a celebration dial Rolex. Furthest thing from my "tool" watches imaginable.

From what I hear PM Daytonas are still impossible to get from ADs. I would purchase if offered one.

I bought a DD40 Everose chocolate baguette dial in June from the AD, from what I see on Chrono24 they’re still selling for over MSRP

I’m buying.
Not to sound glib but to answer your question: I buy what I want, when I want, from where I want. I have a good relationship with all AD (except AP); however I’m not naive enough to think they don’t play games (with me and others) or that the grey market is evil.

Since some of these PM pieces don’t move. Are ADs discounting them? My AD refuses to discount anything from Tudor, Grand Seiko, Omega and Rolex.

I bought a white gold sub early last year, it was my first PM piece and I absolutely love it. I know I could have waited and gotten it for less second hand but its not the end of the world.

My AD has taken care of me over the years, it was something I wanted and still love

SS Pepsi on 4 months notice for my 40th
SS Blue SkyD
WG "Ghost" Daytona on OF
got the first Summer blue SMP 300 they had in store

I've always loved the WG Sub - both the 11 and 12 versions - and have considered doing a bundle trade of a few watches to get this one, which a few others on the forum have done. I had a rather realistic dream last night that I had actually done this for the latest WG Sub and maybe that's a sign of things to come, LOL.

I am asking more about who is buying from ADs when you can buy for less from the Grey Market. I am all for loyalty nut dropping £35 on a WG Sub you can pick up for £27 or less doesn’t make much sense to me . Then I tested the water offering the same watch to Watchfinder to be offered £22k , made me think even harder. Having bought PM with 25% discounts in the past ,I’m just curious who buys from a AD when there are such huge savings to be had . Even more so when People come on here moaning . I see one post suggesting they are getting 20% off PM pieces .That’s good to know.
I think the WG Sub is one of the real exceptions here Paul and it's not really representative of the Rolex precious metal market in my view for the UK.

And if someone on any forum is claiming a substantial discount of 20% from their AD for any new Rolex purchase I'd like to see the unequivocal proof to back up that kind of on-line claim.......

I personally just do not see AD's discounting new Rolex precious metal watches for fear of losing their franchise. And there are plenty of folks out there buying watches from their AD's who don't follow (or care) the grey market, or the chat on watch forums, and they just simply buy what they like/are offered so that they can wear, keep and enjoy them.

Big fan of mine. Don't regret the purchase for a millisecond.

What evidence do you have to back this up please Sam?

I would be in the market for most ANY DD40 with a 15% discount, except for really iced out models or a few dial combos.

I would also be in the market for a late 5-digit or early 6-digit DD36 in the $17-18K range.

Please don't offer though, I don't buy from individuals as a rule. Only ADs and reputable, long-in-business greys.

I have been thinking down the line as well. This is an option I am pondering.

you can't just casually drop this with no details when not a single post on this entire site has mentioned discounts from ADs on any model since the pandemic

I'm a buyer and will purchase when my AD calls me for a PM model I want.
I don't have anything against the grey market per se, it serves its purpose but IMO, a watch from a grey is a used watch with at least one, if not 2 owners before you get it. The savings on a discounted piece from the secondary market just isn't worth it to me.

Take chrono with a grain of salt. Better picture of market is to see what the trusted sellers are asking and if they sell. Chrono prices are everywhere.
