3rd year warranty question

Hi Everyone,
I'm getting ready to send my 15400 to Clearwater to get my pressure test for my extra warranty year. I've only had the watch a month and hate to see it go, but figured it's worth it.

-I'm sending UPS 2nd day insured and including my warranty book.
- I registered the watch online.

Am I missing any other steps?

What's a typical turnaround time?
Also I need a 1.5 link so I was going to include a note to purchase one and have it installed. Will they be able todo that?

Why send it so early? What's the rush?

Any particular reason you're doing it now vs. a bit later? Personally, I would wait until maybe 20 months in, so in the event you need warranty work at some point, you only lose the watch for 1 period instead of 2.

Guys, I'm 22 months in. Reading from the suggestions - now is the best time to have it extended. Is that correct?

Also - I phoned the Singapore APSC and was advised during this warranty period we're entitled to either a service or just a water pressure test (both options are free of charge). It doesn't sound right to me though - if we have an option to either service or just pressure test, why would we want to choose the latter?

Or am I understanding this wrong??

You have two years to send in for the B1 test (pressure) in order to activate the 3rd year warranty. You need to have the 3rd year sticker, which is hopefully in your book already. If not, you need to register the watch on the AP website and they will send you the sticker.

If there is something wrong with it they will fix it during the warranty period, but a free service just for the heck of it is not correct.

to get the 3rd year warranty you are entitled to a water resistance service..

this service as per aps website includes:

1) disassembly and cleaning of case
2) control of the movement
3) assembly of movement and case
4) during this process we will replace components necessary to ensure water resistance

its not just a 'pressure' test

Sent mine in at 22 months last fall - they found some dried oil - did a full service and extended the warranty two years because of the problem. I had it back in a little over three weeks! Best service in the industry.
