Vacheron wait list?

I do not have a single VC in my collection but is intrigued about adding one. What have been the feedbacks from the boutiques about purchasing a VCO dual time in black? How long is the wait time and are they even placing first time buyers on their queues? Thanks.

The last I heard, the wait time is about 1 and a half years based on what the NYC boutique told me. As for first time buyers, they will place you on their list of interest, but you won't go straight onto the wait list where you've already put down a deposit. Based on what I've been told, they don't take into consideration purchase history. They go down the list in chronological order. I'm sure that their big spenders are able to skip that line though.

It's difficult to say, but currently at the moment I do not believe VC is taking deposits for black or blue VCO in the US, only expressions of interest. (Unsure of silver)

Considering they'll likely have an update to their allocation forecast at the end of March for 2022, it's feasible that the wait time is at least a year and change out for a black (longer for blue) since they'll fulfill those with deposits, and move some of those already aggregated in the past year from the expression list to a deposit.

I'm betting the local B&M boutiques will have some discretion based on prior relationships and spend with existing clients or if you're a celebrity. I think the prior post feels about right in being 1-2 years assuming you've already expressed interest.

i have a DT in black, placed an order in May and it arrived in Aug - so 4 months wait. I was at the boutique couple of weeks before Xmas and was told its now a 4+ year wait for my combo. Good luck in your search, it makes for the perfect daily!

I signed up for black 4500V on September 29th, 2021 and will be picking up later this month from Geneva boutique.

I hope to now order 4300V white dial. Hopefully won't take longer than 6 months? Fingers crossed...

From what I was told, boutique is not taking any deposit for any Oversea for now, including the silver dial basic 3-hand.

All the other OS models are for "return customer" only.

Absolutely correct statement.
But the window is almost closed for this to happen.

It looks like VC has taken a page out of Rolex's playbook. The gray's are doubling the MSRP and the company has waiting lists of over a year.

Time to look at other brands.

But the difference is Rolex, a manufacturing powerhouse, could make more steel watches and chooses not to. Fair play, that's their business.

VC simply cannot meet the Overseas demand at only 20k watches per year, of which only a small fraction are the Overseas. You can argue that it could divert its high horology work to instead make more Overseas, but that goes against the mantra of "Do better if possible, and that is always possible" and, with a slippery slope, is also how it becomes another AP.

There was an article posted elsewhere regarding the high rejection rate of the Overseas dials too.

Don't blame Vacheron, blame the market!

Waited 6 months. They ended up getting 5 last year. Bought a 5500V from Costa Mesa to tide me over until it came in.

In 2019 I walk into VC boutique in Prague. They have all kind of watches including few Overseas models with blue dials. Overseas is a beautiful watch.

I’m waiting for my pink gold 4500 which I am supposed to be collecting around June. I inquired about it in December, so about 6-7 months wait. Can’t come soon enough

How does it work scratch wise? More visible than on the steel?

Maybe I'm a bit silly but this would be a watch I would consider putting some type of protection on if I wore it frequently.

I would be lying if I said it doesn’t get scratched but I would say hides them well. When compared to other PM pieces I have I would said does not scratch as easily. Every scratch I notice has been from metal on metal contact.

Is this through a VC boutique and do you have a prior relationship with them? It's stunning!

Beauty!

I just requested to be put on the list the other day too. No timeframe given though so we'll see

I was told 3-5 years but was already allocated the blue steel fwiw. Probably not helping my chances.

6 months. But I jumped the line when I bought watches from their competition (Costa Mesa) and told them I would just get it there.

Datapoint on the 4500v gold, not on a deposit but on the waiting list here as well.

I've been waiting so far 6+ months, no ETA. Some purchase history, but not sure it would make all much of a difference on this particular piece for my case.
