Welcome to TRF!

Not necessarily! Probably just needs a good winding! Maybe you are just not wearing it enough.

An automatic watch needs about 900 turns of the rotor to stay FULLY wound.

If you have an active style of life, normally the watch would get enough power reserve from the movements of your wrist (maybe not 900 turns of the rotor, but still plenty of PR).

But it could also be a question of the watch needing service, as you suggest. Five years after the manufacture date it is recommended to have the movement cleaned and oiled and then again every 5th. year or so.

I don't think we have enough information about your DJ to make a knowledgable responce..

As Spacey says, It could just need a good winding and then enough wrist time to keep it in it's power band.

Or, if it has a few years on it, it might benefit from a good cleaning and lube job...

Or possibly, you wear it loosely like a bracelet..in that case, it might not get the benefit of its self wind mechanism.
