Thanks, Anders... Your photos and postings here have been excellent and really helped in the enabling, so thanks much!

I really can't believe the comfort level of this watch. It's like it isn't even there...

More to come.

if the thread can change your mind, have you had the opportunity to try one on? nothing ever fit better.

I'm here to report that the wearability of the Aquanaut is truly outstanding, and this is something that one cannot know until they buy the watch and trim the strap to fit. Once that is done the strap ever-so-lightly makes grippy contact with each side of your wrist and there the watch stays, with no moving up-down or side to side on your wrist.

Since the strap is cut to fit you really must creep up on the fit and err on the side of one rib too big rather than risk too tight. The result is just featherlight, perfect fit, and in 24 hrs I've felt no need for any adjustment at all. Just great.

For grins I weighed mine...

While my SS SubC weighs 147 grams, the 5167 weighs in at only 76 grams. It's a difference you really feel.

I've come to view the Aquanaut as basically a Calatrava that has joined the witness protection program...

One more pic from last night:

Congrad on your lovely aquisition!

A thread like this is going to lose me ££££. I am getting more and more tempted to trade my Calatrava and get a 5167R. I always feel unease with rubber strap on a Patek watch but these photos change my mind!! It's going to be a difficult decision for my 40s birthday!

I am getting a custom leather strap.

I am not buying a new rubber yet.

It still works, looks fine to me. just like vintage bracelets, I think it gives it character looking somewhat worn

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Patekmania is a sickness and through encouragement you're all just ignoring the serious cash flow side effects.

No, wait, can't resist...aaarghh.

Kenneth,

I'd like to put up a formal complaint about Ander's pictures.

He owns a suit and this gives him an unfair advantage.

Allow me to give this thread a small bump gentlemen, I do not wish to lie and pardon me if I'm wrong but I am pretty sure I've seen our moderator Ken post a picture or another Patek once! If I'm not mistaken it was a 5146P.

Now I do not wish to give any orders but whether it's yours or not Ken I personally would be very grateful if you could post it again so I would know where to look if I want to drool a bit more!

Indeed. Goes with everything, especially total dress-down. Doesn't even register on radar - needs sonar, LOL. Makes a SS Sub look blingy...

And I swear, the caseback is a contact patch for some substance that makes your problems go away. Hmmm, further study required...

Well, the newer SubC is blingly - fat case, shiny ceramic bezel and gloss dial = bling!
