We don't seem to have had many white 1680 threads lately, so this is very welcome

The best daily if any watch. (I may be a bit biased though!)

Thanks! I’ve used a couple of your great threads on white 1680s in researching the differences. Much appreciated!

Rick, that is a big gorgeous watch. What does the Swiss only dial represent ? Was the dial replaced at some time. It’s got such a big bright presence

Yes it's a Service dial. Looks as new as the day it left the Rolex AD. Which is just stunning in person and gets me a lot of compliments from those people in the know. I rather like the 1680 that hasn't been "Patina'd" through artificial means or through rough actual misuse.

My AD keeps offering to trade for new ones, but it's not an option for me. I just LOVE this watch and use it as my daily.

That is a "25-19 RE-PROFILED DOME" from LA Watchworks.
I have the original Top Hat, but have always preferred the non-cyclops look....though, it's REALLY effing hard to tell the date!

I know the OP didn't ask for pictures but since that is what this thread has evolved into...I'll pile on with more 1680 WHITE goodness:

Great 1680 shots! I've always wanted to ask this question and now that we have the 1680 members with us, I was hoping someone would know. I have 1680 factory engraved on my case but when my watch was sent to Rolex for servicing, they listed it as a 1680/0. Would anyone know why they just didn't list it as a 1680? I was curious if it meant it was some sort of transitional watch or something...

They were just specifying the metal type. For the 1680 reference, there is a solid yellow gold model which is the 1680/8. Rolex uses "8" for YG, "0" for SS, "3" for TT (SS/YG), etc.
