Like everyone else says, it's still on the Omega website. Most likely the 1861 movement GOING to be replaced with the 3861. Most of the rumors pointing towards a January 2021 release. As of right now, all the proof points towards the movement not -at this very moment- being discontinued.
No not at all, like my post said, its most likely going to be released with an upgraded movement. Exactly what you just said lol.

Funny part is the AD I bought my Hesalite Moonwatch from yesterday mentioned it being discontinued before offering 20% off MSRP.

I think that model is a good seller but the ADs don’t seem that concerned about supply drying up.

Over on Omegaforums, the new Speedmaster sheet was supposedly leaked and posted.

It was indeed. I've downloaded it. Very interesting upgrades.

I now feel really good about picking up the current Hesalite recently. Certified movement is probably the most attractive part.

Yep, step dial, new movement, new tapering bracelet, DON bezel and applied logo for sapphire version. Looks pretty good. The lack of ceramic bezel is the only real surprise along with using the DON bezel.

If it’s real, I’ll likely get one next year

Watch is also close to 1mm thinner which is a real plus in my book.

Yes, apparently so - agreed. Will be interesting to see how it wears.

Overall, if this is it, they’ve done a real good job I think

Interesting find.
The close back says Human instead of Manned
DON bezel

I like the step dial but I would like to see one in flesh.
Thickness is also a plus for the new Speedy.

I will keep my 1861 for now

So does this caseback mean that the 3861 is now certified by NASA?

We dont know exactly', I dont see why not being certified or in need of being certified, but this is what I found regarding humans vs manned

NASA and ESA use the term "human spaceflight" to refer to their programs of launching people into space. These endeavors have also been referred to as "manned space missions", though because of gender specificity this is no longer official parlance according to NASA style guides.

I wonder if the ceramic issue is the same as the sapphire, meaning the ceramic can shatter creating issues in space and that’s why the avoided it on this watch?

I hadn’t thought of that, so maybe that’s right. Or they are leaving the ceramic for the special editions to differentiate?

Most likely, e.g. the recently released SS 321 Ed White has ceramic bezel.

Indeed - plus the 3861 special editions (snoopy/A11) so makes sense.

People are arguing over the manned vs human thing on Omegaforums which is really stupid.

Sure seems like the Moonwatch listings in the classifieds have dried up a bit.

Will start to see a flood as the new one is released and people trade to get the new version.

Did the same happen with the 114060?

We will see. Lots may be interested in the stepped dial and improved movement. I for one, prefer the current model as well. It’s foolish to think that the current model will go up in value, at least in our lifetime. literally hundreds of thousands produced over the last decades and easily available.

Not sure. But if you are referring to the Rolex sub, that’s apples and oranges my friend. There is Rolex and then everyone else. The only model I can think of that omega has produced that evokes that kind of hype is the snoopy.

I mean the reality is the new 321 Speedmaster is a more important watch, far more historically relevant than the Daytona, and far more legible and all people can say is wow, I can’t believe it’s so expensive where with the Daytona people say, wow I can’t believe I am able to get this at my gray dealer for twice as much, what a deal. I do not think we have heard of multi year wait lists for the 321 either. Long story is omega is not nearly as hyped as Rolex and the SS Patek’s and so prices should remain perhaps steady or perhaps go down a bit. I can’t see a senario where the current model goes up significantly in our lifetime.

Is not about the value, different mentality of owners for the regular Speedy.
I will not trade or sale my 1861, I like it as it is.

The value plays a role but not as much here.

Isn’t it the same way with the Rolex 16610 and the Rolex 16750?

There are tons of them and still they went up in value

I bought my speedy knowing that it doesn’t hold value as well as a Rolex

I don’t care much about it

But value retention is always a plus

I’d prefer to keep value than lose value

Although that won’t keep me from buying a watch I want

Like the speedy

Wow I just happened to follow up on the discontinuation today and surprised to see it actually got dc’ed. I got a pretty good deal on mine a few months ago from my buddy so the timing couldn’t be any better. I do like the upgrades on the new speedy but I doubt I will be able to get it for the price I paid on mine so I’m happy. Can’t wait to see the new one though.

You are right, and I would not flip to upgrade to the new version. But in reading the posts on these forums, flipping sure sounds pretty common to me.

You’re right. I’m not sure why enthusiasts are like that.

A lot of them want the newest watch as if it were a new toy or something
