Tudor 7928 Rose dial with chapter ring
Here is a 66' 7928 where the owner purchased it back in the 60's and wore it everyday until that day came where he stored it away. After years pass by, he saw the perfect opportunity to pass it down to his son-in-law.
After speaking with the new owner, we decided to service the movement, replace the crystal with a NOS 19, replace the crown and tube with NOS parts, provide a 7206/80 bracelet and provide a 60's PIP. I personally believe these 'Rose dials' are some of the most attractive Tudor's made.

Wow. Nice pick up.
56xK might be the latest Silver Print CGR dial I have seen, by far.

I was just thinking that most 66's I see are not PCG. Great Watch!

It is a regular 64-67 Crown Guard. The Silver Print GCR dial is usually 64-65 and I have seen some early 66, but this is late 66 and a nice find in that serial range.

What a gorgeous watch and restoration mr Ridley. Can I ask you about the bezel lume dot? Is this a repro or something NOS? None of my submariners have one. All bear the submariner insert bullet hole !

I removed the old Tritium (post 68') and applied mid 60's Tritium.

Beautiful!
I’m new here and recently bought a 7928 1967 which is on the way! I have some doubts about my dial it looks like it may have been repainted at some point but not very well. Are these dial restorable or should I look to source a replacement in good condition? What the general consensus? Thanks |

Post a pic. We can help. Most aren’t restorable, but they are refinishable (to a point). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Great job for a beautiful piece, congratulation!
Does anyone know around which year the dial went from gilt to silver? |
