I myself discovered the blue side, or the red side (not sure which is correct) some years ago and have never looked back.

Watches that are available and can be touched, felt and worn before purchasing. Boutiques that welcome you with an Espresso regardless of your purchase history.

Omega makes great timepieces and IMHO lb for lb they are superior to Rolex Divers in some ways.

Welcome to the other side, enjoy yours stay if you so choose.

As many have said, Rolex isn’t a pre-requisite for participating on this forum.
Just an appreciation for the horological world....
As with where this very thread resides, Omega sub-forum, we do also have a large Omega followers. So no need to go anywhere..
Enjoy your new watch, and looking forward to hearing more.

Wow, that's a great collection you've got there, Chris! Omega is an excellent brand to collect, as it has such a rich history and countless variations to chose from.

I mentioned elsewhere that the Speedmaster is an icon and Daytona a marketing dream.

Congratulations. I am a fan of Omega and have added a few models in the last year that I really enjoy. Collecting and ownership is about fun and it sounds like that is where you are.

right on thank you. I think OP made a wise choice to go Omega.
I get so much more of a happy feeling when I think of my Omega's. I obviously love lot's a brands and watches in general, but the current Rolex hype is very off-putting, and as you said Omega has so much to offer.

Omega divers vs chronograph

Not a fan of the Omega divers...IMHO the Rolex sub a must have for a dive style watch

Now the chronograph is a different story...I love my speedy hesalite and it is my favorite watch....

I had a older Daytona with a steel bezel on my wrist a few years ago and went with the speedy...not a fan of the Rolex steel bezel

Now that Rolex updated to a ceramic bezel on the Daytona, I think it makes all the difference.

Omega please give us a speedmaster professional with a panda dial and a ceramic bezel..if this happened I would never take another look at the Daytona (the Olympic Tokyo edition is sooo close to the prefect watch)

I also find that daily postings of the call and wrist rolls and incoming gets very exhausting to look at. It seems that horology has now been limited to Instagram and wrist rolls with blingiest thing you can dawn.

Variety is the spice of life!

I didn’t have a Rolex until recently but never felt out of sorts discussing my not so popular watch choices here.

Good on yah! I am frustrated Rolex isn't really much fun anymore but I don't think I could part with the two I have for fear of remorse. That said I too have kind of moved on to enjoying other brands like Omega, IWC and Zenith. If I could truly sell them all I would be left with my first and most treasured 1992 GMT Master 2 as my one and only.

Ill go out on a limb...Rolex's are overrated. Not worth the wait times and not worth double the retail price on the gray market. Yeah, I said it!

Lots of us feel the same way.

Omega is great. Los of us here feel that way too. Much respect for the speedy and almost as much for the seamaster.

That should be made a sticky. :D

I almost don't goto Rolex forum anymore. I have gotten really tired of non-stop incomings, wrist rolls, silly AD game questions and so on. Its a major turn off IMHO.

Its much nicer here with good postings that people follow up on, and also at OF/WUS.
