What kind of watch do you most associate with "Land"?
Popular trio is Air, Land, Sea. Esp in Rolex land, there doesn't appear to be much controversy over Sea and Air. Diver for Sea, some kind of GMT complication for Air.
But just for fun, what do you guys associate most with a "land" watch? I've seen Exp I, Exp II, Daytona, even Datejusts in this category. I personally always go with Exp I. I just think that, GMT Master, and Sub make the ultimate trio. |

Any and all of those OP listed would be fine. Less the explorer II imho because it's more cave than land (as in surface)

Probably the Explorer indeed, the quintessential "land watch" with a touch of adventure.

Air = Air King (since it says “Air” on the dial) Sea = Sea Dweller (since it says “Sea” on the dial) And would nominate the Explorer for Land … for the epitome of Land, Sea & Air. |

Explorer watches
All options are about the same really, but in terms of association, field and Explorer type watches.

Explorer 2 and GMT Master are the most functional as the 24 hr hand can be use as a compass needle to point North or South depending on whether you're in the Northern or Southern Hemiphere respectively

Explorer = "I love spending time outdoors"
Daytona = "I pretend to time race cars" GMT = "I miss Pan Am" Sub/SD = "I swim, in a pool" Datejust = "I prefer to stay indoors" Yachtmaster: |

How about a Seiko "Landmaster". Then you've got Land in the name, and a compass, plus a GMT function (air) and 200M water resistance (sea)

I thought the OP was trying to identify 3 Rolex watches for the epitome of L-S-A. Not you, but to others … I get that a lot of watches could qualify under certain headings, but I think a Day-Date, or a DateJust is a stretch to fill any of the categories, even Land. If we only get to pick 1 watch (Rolex) per category, it would be hard to argue against a “Sky” Dweller for Air … but how can a watch that has the word “Air” (Air King) on the dial not be the best choice for the “Air” category ??? |

Divers. And I don't even dive. I've always been drawn to the overall look and features of dive watches.

IMHO the Milgauss is the dark horse in this survey.
Definitely a land designed reference. Next choice goes to Explorer

Land, Air and Sea to me always meant a Daytona, GMT and Sub. But since you mention it, and considering I almost never use my chronograph function lol, an Explorer or Field type watch makes much more sense to me.

I voted Explorer, specifically Explorer II with 3185 or 3186 movement to track a second time zone. Many folks in today's global economy have associates/colleagues in different time zones they frequently conference with, and need to know the time in multiple locations.
Like Brian, I was unaware of the Seiko Landmaster family. Thanks, Adam, for the video link!

I most equate dive watches with land, because that's where you almost always see them.
