Broke the stem off the crown

I accidentally broke the stem off the crown trying to clean the watch a few years ago but never got around fixing it. Just wondering how much something like this would cost. This is off a YG Cartier.

Easy fix, new stems are pretty cheap. Cartier jeweller though? Expect to be gouged.

Yea, why I have been holding off repairing it since my mom wouldn’t wear it these days anyway. I recall casually asking a general watch repair guy and he said 300 without seeing it. Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it

Easy fix, how old is the timepiece as it might be time for a full service too.

Probably 40 years old as it’s one of those old Santos’. I’m guessing a service is going to be in the four figures so that’s a no go. I had in mind of trading it for something different for her but thought that I should fix it before a dealer devalues it for every small thing to discredit it.

This may be usually replaced during a full service anyway as it is a part which normally wears out.

We never serviced any of our watches, it just goes in the drawer. Still wearing a 25 year old quartz tag with a bezel that doesn’t click and rotates freely; but recalling a friend servicing an Omega a few years ago, he was somewhat taken back at the price and said it wasnt worth it but dealt with it for its sentimental value.
