ICW Pilots watch 41m

Hi

Has anyone got the ICW Pilots watch in 41m. Would be interested in your opinions.

Tried one on and was pleasantly surprised.

This time I mean it! What's with TRF the last couple days. Running very sluggish.

Been waiting for the right one to add and when they released the 41’s I knew it was time. Proportions are perfect for me and for the type of watch that it is. Was just waiting for the “right” one…and when I finally saw this one in person, literally took me a day to make the decision and subsequent addition.

Agree, the 41 is a much more attractive size. Love mine!

I used to wear the Spitfire model, and it was a really good watch in a lot of ways. I was pleasantly surprised at how much more handsome it was in person than in photos (things like the polished metal hands come out more in person). Also, it ran and operated really well, with perfect rate results and great operation in the crown and chronograph controls.

I will say the fit was a bit chunky. My preference for/against chunkiness changes almost like a mood, but I think that was my excuse for trading it for something else. I guess if you're here after trying it on then I don't need to warn you about chunkiness.

I'm with Dan on this. They're fantastic watches, I've tried a few on over the years and really appreciate what they do. However, I never ended up buying one yet.

I currently own a 45mm Top Gun Ceramic Chrono and really like it. I have owned the standard Chrono in 43mm both on a strap and a bracelet and enjoyed them. My AD has a nice selection of 41mm versions of this watch and they are very nice but a little small for my 7.5-7.75 inch wrist. Maybe that I am just use to the larger watches. If it works for you then go for it.

I own a new Ingenieur, a Mark 18 and a circa year 2000 Chronoflieger. Enjoy them all, like IWC’s sporty zeitgeist!

I’ve always been interested in IWC Pilot watches. They look extremely legible.

I wonder how they wear on the wrist …

These are my exact thoughts. I’m wishy washy on the thickness. Its thick. But super legible and operates great. Really nice pusher action. I debate trying the Benz version but I don’t like the branding, just the colors

Used to have 43 but found it too big. 41 is border line for my 15cm wrist. Love the 41 with crystal caseback and 100wr with easy change system. The only not so good thing for me is the bracelet which does not quite fit my wrist.

Anyone know why they're >15mm thick?!
If it was round 12mm I would buy one.

I went into the boutique to try on the new 41mm Top Gun which is a vastly improved piece/feel/symmetry over 44mm. But, for a smaller wrist (6.75-7 inches) such as mine, it felt a little thick and top heavy. A cool watch nevertheless.

I mean this is not your “dressy” chrono. Yes, do I wish it was a smidge thinner? Always. But I think the watch as an entire package works so the relative thickness doesn’t bother me as much on the pilots vs say the Portuguese for example.

So nice! I like the idea of having some his and hers pieces in the collection.

It’s nice, it just gets expensive since I have to balance his and her purchases

For anyone who has one, have you tried to wear the chrono under a shirt cuff? Is it basically an impossible ask, or does it actually slide under there (if a bit snug)? The thickness is my main hang up, I really want a chrono I can get under a cuff.

IWC Mark for suits.

Get a Mark 18 or 20. Fits nicely under a long sleeve shirt and suit jacket. See my picture above. The price is reasonable for this type of watch.
