Yes, Scampi (or scampi lobster or Dublin Bay prawns) are langoustines. Unfortunately, we in America, make it more confusing by using the term scampi as a preparation for shrimp. So when people think scampi, they think shrimp scampi

There are some things even I would draw the line on , check out these sea cucumbers

I've had them only once. It taste like whatever it's cooked in. I think its more of a textural thing which is quite gross.

In New Zealand they wrap them in leaves, put them in a pit, sprinkle them with wine, cover them with rocks and leave them for 24 hours.
















Then they eat the rocks.
