Of course, it'd be nice if the OP would chime in after posting this 3 days ago and after receiving a lot of comments.
Where are you, OP???
Yes might be helpful if the OP came back and clarified. I’m curious now!

I think he is using the term 'lugs' to refer to the notches/grooves in the bezel (can't remember their name).

That's why he asked whether he should replace the bezel and said that he wants them to be 'deeper' which wouldn't really make any sense when talking about lugs.
Bingo! Sorry for keeping everyone in suspense, have been in Moab and haven't had time to chime in... Yes, NOT "lugs" but "grooves" / "notches" in the bezel, or whatever you call them. My bad

So, back to my original question - do the "grooves" / "notches" in my bezel look too shallow and over-polished? Or does the deepness / shallowness differ based upon the year? Just trying to determine the degree of "off" (due to polishing) from original mine is...

Based off of photoguy's picture he posted of his unpolished triple zero it looks like mine might not be that far off... Thoughts?

They looked like this before I had it restored by Rolliworks so I know it's not their fault, I'm just curious as to how the lugs wind up looking like this :) Does anyone know if it's possible to replace the outer bezel (the ring containing the lugs)? Is this a part I can pick up at a registered service center? And if yes, does anyone happen to know the cost? Would prefer that my lugs are deeper/more defined, not wimpy.

Thanks!
Ahh!! You’re right OliverD!! I just reread his post and also saw this statement, (in bold above.)

Also, I’m always a bit mystified when an OP starts a thread which gets a lot of replies and doesn’t post again. His profile has indicated he’s been on the site several times since his OP, yet nothing posted here.

The bezel ring looks fine to me ( I have seen them worn almost smooth)....but if in doubt just have it replaced....it is not an expensive part and it’s replacement will not likely detract from its perceived value or collectability of the watch.

What’s the best/cheapest way to get it replaced?

Pop the bezel off and take the watch to Rolex. Tell them it fell off.

Does it need to be a RSC or can it just be an authorized Rolex dealer?
