Well, for starters, the bracelets on the Subs and SD are called FLIPLOCK because of the diver extension links.

The OYSTERLOCK are the ones WITHOUT extension links and are fitted on the Exp., GMT-II, YM and Daytona.

The Sub-date bracelet has 4½ links on the 6 o'clock side, whereas the SD bracelet has 5 links on the same side. All else is the same.

If you mean the FLAT "S" link, they will be the same with both - the Sub-date and the SD.

However, the SD comes with an extra FLAT link marked "L" attached to a proper link. This comes with a special screwdriver which is used to attach the "L" link to the bracelet for additional extension in case you wish to wear the watch on the outside of an extra thick diving suit....something that 99.99% of us will never do.

That's exactly it. Looking at the SD as I type this, I can see that the existing Standard extension will serve me with any dive suit I choose to wear, the Long link will remain unused. Not having a Sub handy, are the outside rows of links on the bracelet similar to the SD? Thx.

Identical in every respect, but with only one difference.

Sub-date has 4½ links on the '6' side, whereas the SD has 5 full links on the same side.

Sub-date - note 4½ links.

SD - note 5 full links.

So the different part #s for the bracelets merely reflect the half link versus full link difference...?

Yes, SD bracelet part No. is 93160A.

Sub-date bracelet part No. is 93250.

sorry to bring up an old thread, but i thought better this than me create a new post. is it possible to put a oysterlock (with the 4, 1/2 link band) on a SeaDweller? im thinking this might help my watch fit me a little better.

Yes, that would be possible....because both bracelets are identical in every other respect.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard that the SEL on the SD bracelet was slightly different than the SEL on the SUB bracelet, owing to the slightly different case sizes/thicknesses of the watches. Is this true?
