Incoming...Omega
After much internal debate I decided to go back to my first luxury watch brand...Omega.
I’ve gone the Rolex and Tudor route along with a few of the German brands (Nomos, Stowa) which I still own and recently gifted my Explorer, white OP39, and blue Pelagos to my three boys. That left me with a hole in my collection for that dressy/sporty watch that could be worn comfortably in any situation. I also wanted a watch with a blue dial and seriously considered the blue OP39. In the end, the Seamaster Aqua Terra won out for several reasons: 1 - aesthetics, notably the beautiful horizontal teak dial 2 - movement (co-axial caliber 8900) which I felt was superior to the Rolex OP 3132 movement 3 - 60 hour power reserve 4 - availability 5 - price point (a substantial difference) The only downside to this watch, in my opinion, are the PCL’s which have never been my cup of tea. I would consider brushing the bracelet sometime in the future but will leave it be for now. I am totally smitten with this watch. The teak blue dial is just the right shade of blue and really is quite stunning in the flesh. All in all, the Aqua Terra is right up there in quality with the two Rolex’s I’ve owned and just might be the best looking one of the bunch. I haven’t set the date or time yet... I figured someone would mention that.
