Hello from Richardson, Texas

It's interesting to see how many people on here are from the Dallas/Fort Worth area so I guess I must be in good company.

I'm a network administrator by trade and a photographier by hobby.

I just purchased my first Rolex a few weeks ago, the 50th anniversary Submariner as a belated 30th birthday present to myself. Of course my wife told me that it also covers my gifts for the next 5 years. :) I must admit that I'm not used to wearing such an expensive time piece and still feel a little bit subconcious about it. Does that feeling ever go away?

Hi there!
I live in Frisco TX, so just a few minutes away from you. How cool!
My first Rolex arrived few days ago, an Explorer II. I guess you could say that it is a late 30th birthday present.

Good to have you here!

Hi and welcome to TRF.

The LV Sub is a very nice watch and I think over a period of time you will get used to its classiness and the fact that it is expensive.

Post some pics of the same when you can. Meanwhile, have yourself a ball on this crazy forum.

Cheers - JJ

Hi there VH! I was a 9-1-1 Systems Admin and a DoD photographer until the Army called me back in. I bet we can have a hundred things to chat about.

Then again if you think sheep are cute I am sure JJ will take up all your time. You will see!

And yes having a watch the price of a small used car on your wrist at times can be a little disconcerting depending on where you are and who you are with. So hang out here where you will fit right in and be at home! It's great to have you!

Oh and in case you want another Rolex (or anything nice) before the five years is up per your wife, get her a Rolex. This starts your counter all over again. :-)

It's OK to be self conscious about it, but if you are unconscious you should not wear it. We are all sub conscious of our subs.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. There seems to be an interesting group of people here. :-)

As requested, here's a photo of my lv.

I may end up spending more time in the photo section than the Rolex one.

Let me add my welcome to TRF, VH. Glad you found our merry madhouse. If that pic of your LV is any indication of your photographic ability, then post away. As you can probably tell, we love watch pics, but we love any kind of good shots. We've got some pretty good photogs here and we welcome another one.

So stick around and keep posting.

Welcome to TRF from Arapaho and Yale, we are neighbors. I am heading to Austin for good in a month but perhaps a Starbucks at Jupiter and Beltline could be in the mix.

Enjoy this nuthouse.

I live more towards Sachse so maybe Shiloh and Arapaho as an in between spot before you head to Austin. By the way, why are you moving to Austin?
