Their new Moonphase, the Twelve and the Bel Canto indicate attempts to move upmarket. The designs can feel derivative (Arnold & Son, Czapek, MB&F respectively) but that also represents a major improvement from the army of Oyster Perpetual and Explorer II clones at the $1-3k price point.
The name evokes Daniel Wellington……. Because it’s similar, not ‘lumping them in’ at all…… so not laughable nor uninformed, you read what you wanted to.

Good grief, is it ignorance or brand snobbishness promoting some of these ridiculous comments? Seriously, this is meant to be a watch forum.

Insofar as, yes, they both use English names, I suppose they are similar. I always associate Audemars Piguet and Jaeger-LeCoultre!! /s

Anyway, C. Ward makes this and sells it for under $5k. That’s impressive.

(Note the lack of a name, lol)

Personally I find it hard to get past the name. My understanding is that it is the name of a co-founder, who long ago left the company, and isn't even a watch maker, just a businessman/investor.

I know names like Omega/Rolex/Tudor are essentially meaningless but i find it highly peculiar to be a full name of an actual person, who is essentially irrelevant to watches??

I don't know.

Also. As much as it is nice to see new references. They seem to be chucking out new models like the worlds ending which kind of devalues them a little in my eye.

And why do I even post this/moan? Well I guess I sort of want to get one of their watches. But feel like I shouldn't because the whole package just seems a bit, i dont know, naff??
Thats how I feel about Ming. The chucking out new watches part

Love my Bel Canto! Excellent watches for the price. Just needed an upgraded strap...

There are a few Rolex models many people on this forum disparage.
