Which one to add Now : SubC 114060 or Sea-Dweller 116600 ?
Hello Everybody !
I have the opportunity to get a BNIB Sea-Dweller 116600 at 10k or a BNIB SubC 114060 under 7k . Both watches at Rolex AD...papers under my name,etc... I have in my box : 116520 white, 116610LV, Explorer 114270, Tudor Black Bay black, DJII blue stick 116334. I know this is probably my last chance to get the Sea-Dweller with the full package on my name...I also doubt about being able to get it for under MSRP down the road... I am wondering if it is really worth to spend more than 3k over the 114060 at this time ? What would you do in my position ? Thanks !!!

I like the 116600, however I love the 114060. I don't feel like the 4K is as special as the 16600 so I would go sub.

The 116600 will probably win but the 114060 is my favorite Rolex model so I'm going Sub C

By the way, simply out of curiousity, why do you prefer the 114060 over the LV ?

Both are top models.
If $$'s are not an issue the SD is a Rolex engineering masterpiece. Or choose the 114060 for simplicity and symmetry. There is no bad choice here.

I own both and the SDc is the obvious choice. You'll always be able to get a Sub.

Depends really, do you want jewellery or a proper 'tool' watch? The Sub is bigger, has the ubiquitous cyclops and is obviously Rolex. the 'Dweller is a perfectly designed tool watch that is bullet-proof and flies under the radar. Kinda like the Bodybuilder versus Cage Fighter comparison...IMHO!
But, go with what sings to you. |

114060. I have owned the SD4k and currently own the 114060. In the past ( up till recently), I've stated that I prefer the SDC 4K for a number of reasons... but have since changed my mind. I now prefer the 114060.
I think it all depends on what is important to you. SD4K pros IMO: greater water resistance/engineering, the raised crystal/vintage vibe and minute markers along the bezel, less common. I like the 114060 better now only because it's a touch more comfortable ( not that the SD4K is uncomfortable) due to the lower weight and thinness...yet wears a little larger with the surface area of the watch face, including the dial, appearing larger due to it being thinner/flatter than the SD4k. The differences in lug size on the models are neither here nor there with me. I like the thinner/smaller lugs of the SD4K...but I also like the fatter lugs of the 114060 which gives the Sub more of a "cushion case" look like the old vintage divers of the past from other brands. (i.e. DOXA) |
