Your ripping yourself off big time in that deal.

No way is that worth it

Not sure on the values of your current collection but owning a Platona all I can say is it's very special ,very heavy, lovely. The 5711 does nothing for me but from the above I appear in a minority

Nah, 5711 isn't my bag either. Doesn't feel that awesome on my wrist.

I would absolutely do it if the cash to you was sufficient not to make it a terrible deal financially. I have two Nautilus but I love my Platona 1000 times more than them. That said, if there was a way you could keep the Nautilus, a steel Rolex Sport and add the Platona, that would be a perfect three watch collection.

I wouldn't trade your collection plus cash for a Platona. If you are set on making a trade, keep the PP 5711 and trade the rest.

Nice threesome.
I've tried on the platona many times in the hope that I would succumb, because is wears just superb. However, I just cannot get further than the hue of brown for the bezel.
For me - should have been Royal blue.

I would do it
I sold BLNR to make funds for the Daytona 116506
As for Day Date, as much as I like these, I prefer Sky Dweller
Neither Patek nor Omega does it for me

I'd do it as long as you have five figures + coming back your way.
Platona and SD4K makes for a great pair.

As much as I like the Platona, I would not get rid of your collection especially the 5711.

What I am seeing is a beautiful and well balanced collection.

That 5711 is going up up in value....

Your choice at the end of the day but heed other members words please.

Hey guys

Thanks for all the great feedback was offline for a few days....

Just to clarify I was getting 10k GBP plus the Platona.

However I decided against the deal for 2 reasons.

1. 5711 just to good to lose even
with platinum fever.

2. Wife loves the dd2 and won't let me sell ( so I guess that's the real reason!)

However I now have mega urge for a new watch and decided to part ex my BLNR and GSOM plus cash from me for a BNIB WG sub.

This affliction can't be tamed but I have curbed my Platona fever until next year to justify a big 40 birthday present to myself :)

In coming in about 7 days !

I wouldn't trade all 4 for a Platona, but I would certainly consider trading the DD40 (or 5711) + Omega Speedmaster for a Patek 5170 (G, R, or P) + cash

http://www.patek.com/en/mens-watches...ions/5170R-010

Great collection you have currently BTW

Edit: I see your decision on the WG Sub 116619LB aka Smurf. Great choice and an awesome piece, Congrats! On my very short list for a 35th B present to myself

I say keep 5711 and DD, sell/trade the others to help with your Platona purchase

Keep the 5711. Everything else including the Platona is expendable.
