I have the 16600 and am thinking of adding a 116600. Anyone have experience with both in terms of how they feel on the wrist, pros/cons, etc.?

I've had both and traded my 116600 for a 16600. The ceramic bezel on the 116600 made the watch look like a piece of jewelry to me and a little too dressy for the classic diver tool watch look I wanted from a Sea-Dweller. I picked up a NOS Z serial 16600 from David SW and it's exactly what I was looking for.

I've had both, but currently only have the 116600. The weight and size of the watch is very similar but the 116600 wears better IMO due to the slightly beefed up clasp, so feels a little more balanced on my wrist. I also like and use the adjustments on the clasp (2mm increments up to 20mm, I think).

16600 is a LEGEND.
The greatest Sea Dweller, so the greatest Rolex Diver, so the greatest tool watch ever, imho.
Maybe the greatest Rolex ever.
116600 is beautiful, and Rolex added just the improvements it needs to get better a quite perfect watch... the perceived quality is of another planet in the 116...
BUT
in terms of the Class... no way.
16600 is Rolex at its absolutely best.

It's steadily bringing less since SD43 release in my opinion. Was pulling a larger premium when it first announced it was discontinued. Hype is already cooling off.

The 16600 looks like a sub with no cyclops to me ...
So the 116600 maybe the missing link to the puzzle...

My heart says 16600, but since I have a 14060m I would go with the 116600 just to fill a gap in my collection with the bezel & bracelet improvements.

The SD 16600 is probably the best modern Rolex out there. It took me a while to give it a try and I’ve got to tell you I’m keeping this baby forever.

2 yrs ago, i think most people would have said the 16600. now thats its discontinued, the tide has turned. i did try on the 116600 several times at the AD, but the 16600 just felt more refined.

The 16600 is an all-time classic Rolex dive watch. The 116600 has weirdly shaped lugs that allow the end links to breach, a date window that is too far inset, and a blingy ceramic bezel...although I’d still take it over the current Sub.

Hello forum, sorry to hijack the thread a bit. I have recently bought a 16600 and a Sub, just to see which style I prefer. The 16600 is far more comfortable on my wrist, so I will be keeping it over the 114060.

I think I will send the SD in for a service, does anyone know whether I can ask for a newer blue lumed dial and hands to be fitted? I do rather like the blue lume of the sub.

I would have added a photo but I am not allowed to at the moment.

116600 for me. The glidelock clasp and retained 5-digit Rolex case dimensions make it close to perfect. Wouldn't rule out a 16600 down the road, but there are a number of watches that would come well before it...
