Where do you wear your Rolex?

So I was talking to a watch buddy of mine. I own an Speedy and a Mark 18 that I wear almost anywhere with no issue. My Rolex Milgauss however, I do hesitant wearing it out to work meetings or to certain functions. Now don't get me wrong, I love wearing it. I just feel a bit self conscious in certain situations. Such as wearing it to visit my customers. Even though I'm driving a Honda Accord and I know many who drive 5 series or Lexus's that cost way more than my watch. Also they do not hold their value like my watches either.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one who feels this way? Just wanted to hear others thoughts on the subject.

I can't think of any reason why I wouldn't wear a Rolex.

I would also doubt that 99% of your customers would even know what kind of watch you are wearing.

The only time I don't wear one is when I am traveling overseas to certain countries, or if I am going out to a seedier bar or club and plan on staying out late. Otherwise, it's worn pretty much all the time.

Unless I am traveling to anywhere outside of what is becoming the only semi-civilised country, America, I have my Rolex on my wrist. There's this handy, dandy thing-a-ma-bob that came with all my watches called a wrist band. I use it to secure my Rolex to my wrist in an easy to see location just above my hand.

Wherever I go, my Rolex watches are likely to go with me.

It's my lesser watches that I pamper, not the Rolex watches.

I really don't feel self-conscious about wearing my expensive watches with regard to what people might think. Most people have much nicer things than I do, since I'm a very frugal man. Others just put their money into other things.

When it comes to bad neighborhoods, I do my best to avoid them, even though crime can catch up with anyone at any time these days.

I wear my Rolex to work, client meetings, various receptions. Less expensive watches are wear during my free time, vacations and when I know that I will be in a less secure environment.

All the damn time, its never off my wrist. From boating to clinic... I wore my GMT most of the school year and even went into the human cadaver lab with it on. It's a tool and built like a tank, I hate when items don't get used.

This is an interesting observation. I wear a midsize TT yacht master blue dial or a TT GMT master II ceramic since February 2017 almost everyday. I come in contact with students faculty and administrators - a few of whom love cars and probably watches. We discuss all topics but no one so far has asked me about my watches.

+1. Office, traveling, surfing, diving, drinking beer and on and on. It's what made me overcome my anti-Rolex bias-- these are tough little watches that will be great in almost any situation.

I know what you mean. I have friends of mine that think that rolex watches start at 30k so I'm sure many think so too.

The only time I consciously don't wear it is if I'm interviewing for a job. I wear a simple Rado for those times.

I wear my watches 99% of the time. The only time I've ever taken it off is when visiting 3rd world countries.

I don't wear mine when I travel to go on survey. I know a Rolex can take a wallop but I don't believe in wearing my watches when I know they're going to take an unnecessary beating when I have a perfectly good G-Shock for that purpose.

Just cannot understand these types of threads why buy a Rolex if you are not going to wear it no matter the wearing situation.

I must confess that I think that there are a lot of men wearing a Rolex who really would be better off selling it.

The amount of worrying and fretting is almost at epidemic proportions.

Just buy the thing, wear it and forget it.

Regards

Mick

Being in industrial sales, there are some business environments I will not wear a Rolex. Perception can make or break a deal.
