Probably not a forum favorite but . . .

I like it, came in the mail today and I am a sucker for textured dials. Japanese and quartz, I can see the eye rolls now

I think it's a nice looking watch! I personally have no problems with Japanese watches, in fact Seiko is one of my favorite brands! While I often prefer mechanical watches, I have a great respect for quartz watches as well! You can't beat the accuracy of a quartz watch!

Its the way the dial is. Not really noticeable IRL but it was one of the things I noticed before purchase and I decided its ok.

Honestly, I think it was a bad design choice but it really kind of disappears on the wrist

I like it. Dial reminds me of the Grand Seiko snowflake dial, which I am quite fond of. Don't mind the quartz either depending on the cost.

Good looking piece. No complaints here.

Nice watch, it looks like Grand Seiko. I think these two Japan giants are owned by same company

It is part of all the Chronomaster dial designs - a truncated Hour index. With the wide contrasting indices it looks different than the plain ones. For example, a plain black dial looks more like the other indices:

Amazing watch! On-par with Grand Seiko and rated to +- 5sec / year if I'm not mistaken. Congrats!

eh? Seiko is to Citizen like Ford is to GM

Both are public listed corporations in each own right.

Citizen has Miyota & Bulova under their umbrella.

Seiko gets their movements from both Seiko Instruments & Seiko Epson, 2 competing subsidiaries often making the same end item in parallel at different factory locations.

You clearly have never heard of the Chronomaster (or the Campanola FWIW). Please do your homework, learn and come back.

Something get lost in translation? Chronomaster/Campanola aren't handbuilt alongside GS under same roof

I'm not a snob. I don't think there is anything wrong with a quartz watch. It's a beauty. Congrats!

Thanks everyone. I love how the crystal pretty much looks invisible on this watch and how the words seem to float over the dial. I believe there is a clear layer between the paper dial and the words/indices.

With no brand name to inform them, a lot of people probably assumed this was a cheap watch

Congrats OP. This must be one of the better quartz pieces money can buy

Beautiful watch !
I like the dial a bit better than the Snowflake, ( which I think is stunning BTW), because of it's simplicity. I'm just not a fan or the PR sub dial on the Spring Drive models....

Exactly how I felt about the snowflake. The PR ruins it :(

Not bad, at first I thought the minute hand pretty was very short but went online and see that its just the lighting.

Personally I don't do quartz often because I hate the hassle of changing batteries in watches.

I think it might look good on a black strap as well, due to all the white/silver of the watch and bracelet.

I'm a snob and I like it. The textured dial is killer.
